Southeast Elite Showcase Fall Ball Session II: Senior Sensations

Showcase events such as the Southeast Elite Showcase help greatly in that process.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Its second session emanated from the SCISA 4A school that is Ben Lippen in the Midlands and we at Prep Girls Hoops were on hand for Saturday's festivities from the Falcons' nest. She fuses together playmaking abilities, veteran instincts and toughness. These are all attributes that have served her well throughout her high school career as well as during her grassroots stint with [program_tooltip program_id='1320709' first='SC' last='Fever']. It also earned her a collegiate offer from Truman College in Chicago over the offseason. But it can be obscured when playing on a team with college-level talent as the Bengals have enjoyed the last few seasons. As Spain enters her senior season with the Bengals, she is poised to finish her high school career with a flourish and display what she can truly get accomplished on the court. At 5-foot-9, she has the height of someone who can win plenty of rebounding battles and can turn offensive boards into two-point putbacks and old-fashioned 3-point play opportunities. Council looks to be part of that supporting cast. She is a multi-sport athlete who has junior varsity experience and has competed in track and field in addition to what she can get accomplished on the basketball court. Council possesses accuracy from 3-point range and a willingness to get in position to corral rebounds even though she primarily plays in the backcourt. She displayed the talents that have earned her looks from college coaches. Whalen is entering her final season at the high school level with the Falcons and her career includes a stint at 4A public Irmo. Whalen's scoring, rebounding and ability to draw contact to get to the free throw line were attributes that helped Ben Lippen earn a semifinal berth in last season's SCISA 4A playoffs.
