In this Update we do not have any movement within the Top Five. Sometimes that is just how it goes. Below we will dive into each prospect, what they bring to the hardwood, and we will speak about what they could become down the line if they keep on grinding.

Tenley Levin holds onto the #1 spot in this Update. Levin, the 6'0 CG, has a big Winter ahead at Solon High School. Coming off of a memorable season as a Freshman, it'll be time to see what else Levin has worked on moving into this next year of action. At the beginning of last season she was stationed inside the three point line for the most part but as she became more comfortable - she started to spread things out, demonstrating her versatility as a whole from further away. That's where Levin's #1 rated comes into play. It's within her versatility. This is a stacked Class with several other prospects just a hair behind Levin as it pertains to the skill side of things but when you pair that skill with her natural size - you see the promise now and what it could become in the future at the P4 level. I want to see total domination this Winter out of the Spartans and out of Levin. She is growing into her own and as long as she competes with everything she has - she should stick on the path of being a P4 prospects as she continues to grow through this season.

The closest prospects to Levin comes to us in the form of PG/CG - Emily Tanny. Tanny is a very interesting as a whole within her development because she just continues to grow. I would say at this point she is a solid 6'2 and still moving up day-by-day. When you take into consideration that her mom was a 6'4 C/PF, who played at both Iowa and in The W, you imagine that is where Tanny might get to - height wise. At this time she is categorized as a 6'1 Guard. If she continues to keep this Guard-like ability as she gets bigger - she might end up at one of the top college programs in the Country by the time she gets to the collegiate level. For now though she seems to be taking it one day at a time, building her foundation and that's the real secret sauce that will take her places as she gets older.

If Waukee NW wants to in a 5A State Title this Winter, Grace McCann is going to have to be part of that equation. McCann stepped up to see some Varsity time last year with the Wolves. Which is impressive when you take into consideration their roster at hand. They have multiple D1 athletes all around, that are ready to play whenever their name is called but McCann still saw time and i'm not talking junk minutes when they were up or down 40. I'm talking meaningful minutes against some of the state's best within their Class and she never buckled. She held her own and she should be able to do that once again this Winter but at an even higher rate now that she is more experienced. In this Update McCann comes in at #3.

The role for Adrienne Sears is about to grow this season now that Ellie Muller is gone due to graduation. You might think because these players are different positions that they wouldn't impact each other but they do. With Ellie gone there will be about 10-20 more shots per game for someone else to take. I think Katie Muller is going to get most of those as their 6'3 Senior SG but other Guards will need to play impactful roles around her if they want to be competitive within the 5A Class as we move closer to the Playoffs at the beginning of 2027. Sears is a well rounded prospect. I would say right now that she might be the most well rounded out of this Top Five as a whole. She plays a smart game at the CG position, she moves whenever it's needed to help out her squad, and she is always productive in her adventures around the floor. All in all - watch out for Sears. She could move up a spot within these Rankings if she works hard enough and leaves it all out on the floor. She already has that D1 level talent. Now it's all about seeing how far she can take things from here.

The best defender we have within this Top Five is Emma Ryder at #5. Ryder is a game controller at the Post position. She controls the lane at a very high efficiency level and that never changes up - no matter the competition level. She could be playing at home in her driveway or on the road in another state. When you place her in the middle of your floor, she knows how to make the game her own. Offensively, she can score in a plethora of different ways on each side of the time. Defensively, she is defender #1. Miss Lock-Down for short. I'm excited to see where her journey is going to take her from here but this is someone we will be talking about consistently until she ends up graduating within the next three years.
