2029 Rankings: Breaking down the Top 5

With the 2029 classes being updated once again, let's take a look at the current Top 5.

Lucia stays at number one and has been the top player since these rankings were released after the 2029 freshman showcase 2 years ago. She is a three level scorer who is gaining Division 1 college coaches attention by dominating her freshman year and helping lead Bellevue to the state title game. She has an elite jumper and knows how to get to her spots to get her shot off efficiently.

Iyla jumps one spot up to number 2 after a great season last year for Bellevue, being a big part of their success on the season as well. She knows how to attack gaps and play anywhere on the court, always being able to showcase her high IQ by attacking weaknesses in the defense. She's a natural bucket getter who can score in a variety of ways but can also create for her teammates and plays unselfishly on the court. She's has MANY Division 1 schools trying to land her talents.

Aleya is a lefty who really knows how to shoot the ball. She's knocks down a high percentage of her shots from deep and isn't afraid to let it fly when she sees even the slightest open space. Her dynamic offensive game stays well rounded as she can get buckets using her speed and ability to finish in contact, with ease. She is going to see a bigger role next season as a sophomore with Union losing their top player/scorer in Brooklynn Haywood.

Kadee is a smooth guard who is also poised for a big season with Union as her and Aleya attempt to help fill that gap missing. I think they will do a phenomenal job and both will see a jump in their games. Spike should be handling the ball a little more and will be able to display elite vision frequently, like she did at the expo a month ago. She's a potential future D1 player, in my eyes.

Savannah had a fantastic AAU season this past spring/summer and really dominated on both ends of the court. She displayed her abilities to score from all 3 levels. She handles the rock like a guard but also has the strength to rebound at a high level in the paint. Her smooth crossover leads to easy, open mid-range shots as she can create plenty of space to get her shot off and knock it down. She's a high level player and one to keep an eye on as years go on.
