Recent College Commitments (Pt 2)

There's not many players who can matchup well in the NWC and is one of the highest recruits to ever come out of Whatcom County, men's or women's. Soares protects the paint on the defensive side of the ball too, blocking shots with ease.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='676261' first='Athena' last='LaBow'] - Sammamish HS - <strong>Concordia University Irvine (Division 2) </strong>- Athena is a quick guard who scores really well, having an elite jump shot. She doesn't need much space to get her shot off either, keeping defenders on their toes. She facilitates well too, having really solid court vision and is always willing to make the extra pass. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1114653' first='Ileana' last='Olteanu'] - Lake Washington HS - <strong>Bowdin College (Division 3)</strong> - Ileana is such a great player to have on any team. She is one of the most versatile players in the state, being able to play anywhere on the court and be efficient for her teammates. She can knock down jumpers and fights hard in the paint for loose balls and rebounds. She is going to be a great player at the college level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='751205' first='Carli' last='Kiesau'] - Squalicum HS - <strong>Colorado School of Mines (Division 2)</strong> - Carli's story is one of not giving up and truly putting in the work to get healthy and back on the court. After missing last season, she's back on the court and looks better than before. She is quick on her feet and can play anywhere on the court while making great plays. She defends nicely as she can move her feet smoothly to stay in front of opposing ball handlers. I am excited to see her back on the court for the Storm this upcoming season and beyond at Colorado School of Mines.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1051341' first='Paige' last='Gasseling'] - Davis HS - <strong>North Idaho College (Division 2)</strong> - Paige is a fantastic player who can fill many holes for any team she plays on. She can dominate inside the paint, being able to utilize her strength and soft touch around the rim. She knocks down shots if needed too as she can extend her range if left open.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1240931' first='Jemma' last='James'] - Lummi Nation - <strong>Southern Oregon University (Division 2)</strong> - Jemma is one of the best small school prospects in the entire state. She can shoot the ball from long range at a high percentage and doesn't need much space to get her shot off. James can also attack gaps on the offensive end, using her speed to get to the hoop and get buckets. She is looking to finish her high school career with a state championship this season with Lummi Nation.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='928158' first='Kyli' last='Meyer'] - Ballard HS - <strong>Colorado Mesa University (Division 2)</strong> - Kyli is a player who understands her strengths on the court and does whatever her team needs to get the win. She does a great job at attacking the ball to get paint touches, being able to finish through traffic at a high level too. She has an excellent shot from deep, shooting at a high percentage and knowing what shots to take or not to take.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='688517' first='Sawyer' last='Schaff'] - Olympia HS - <strong>Western Washington University (Division 2)</strong> - Sawyer is a unique player on the court as she is one of the top two way players in the 2027 class. She can defend at a very high level and can even defend all 5 positions on the court with her speed and length. She can handle it like a guard and effectively attacks from the perimeter to get buckets in the paint. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1153957' first='Anna' last='Rowe'] - Bainbridge HS - <strong>Colorado Christian University (Division 2)</strong> - Anna is a player who really knows how to dominate the paint. She blocks shots with ease, reading opposing players quickly and staying ready in the paint. She rebounds really well, grabbing the ball high off the rim and finding her point guard quickly. Offensively she has great footwork in the paint while smoothly getting open and using her strength well. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
