Fall League: Bump City Week 2

There was a good mix of games on hand at Oakland Mills High School for the Bump City Fall League. The league host both boys and girls at multiple locations with jv and varsity divisions. Two courts of action at Oakland Mills, I stuck around for several games and saw some good talent on hand. Here are some of the top players that I witnessed.

Eden showed good poise in the paint. She secured the ball and surveyed the lane, calculating the proper decision to make. She has division one size and showed some agility bringing the ball up in transition. She is a strong rebounder keeping the ball high after securing the board.

Destiny has a nice college frame and defensively she is active with great lateral movement. She showed a good pull up jumper that was accurate and had good elevation. She showed really good body control hanging in the air on a contested finish letting the defender fly by before releasing her finish.

Brooke moved up and down the court really quickly. Even with the speed she was able to play with a pace that seemed comfortable and not rushed. She was good at creating a cushion went fronted to give a passing lane for the catch and finish. Her shot showed range, every shot had the feel that it was going in with misses just rimming out.

MacKenzie looked really comfortable on the court. She was good at taking her defender one on one. Her crossover dribble was low and quick and she showed a variety of counter moves in order to get off her shot. She played the passing lanes well converting steals into points. She also made some nice passes to open teammates.

Dream was in a Panthers jersey and it fit her well. She had some good plays attacking in full court during transition. She used the inside hand to finish to avoid the defensive block. Her shot looked good and she was a threat to shoot or drive on each touch.
