Expert Analysis
Al Schell | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Mackenzie looked very comfortable with her new team as she has transferred in from Good Counsel. She’s a two way terror as she can apply heavy ball pressure and beat ball pressure as well. She finished with 17 points and 4 assists in their win over Good Better Best.

MacKenzie is a terrific athlete who’s play spoke for itself. She had several jaw dropping plays that made me do a double take. One play was a spin move into a drop step finish that cover a lot of ground leaving the defender standing at the free throw line. She used the jump stop will drawing contact and finishing afterwards. She got to the line multiple times where she made her free throws.

Mackenzie is a guard who gets downhill at will. Her quickness and ball-handling ability allowed her to consistently beat defenders. Once she got past the first line of defense, opponents often had no choice but to foul. In her first game of the weekend, she repeatedly earned trips to the free-throw line and ultimately sealed the game by knocking down free throws late. Mackenzie showcased elite quickness and a dynamic ability to attack the basket.

Another really tough freshman that has been tearing things up lately. Playing in the WCAC is not easy but the rookie has been showing that she’s built different. She has a string of games against some of the best competition in the country where she has gone for 30, 23, 22 and 19 points. She’s not only a scorer though. Her on ball defense is elite and and she can flip a game on that end of the court.

Mackenzie had several strong drives to the basket and showed excellent body control, consistently absorbing contact and finishing through it. She attacked from tough angles on multiple occasions yet still managed to convert, demonstrating a soft touch and impressive balance. Her aggressiveness off the dribble also earned her trips to the free-throw line, turning hard earned plays into additional scoring opportunities. With her ability to create her own offense and finish difficult shots, she’s poised to be a tough matchup this season and is definitely a player to keep an eye on.

MacKenzie is another freshman with a lot to offer and Coach Milt will not hold players back if they are ready to go. The group looks like they will be competitive and even though they are young, they are talented enough to sneak up on some of the top tier teams.

Mackenzie is a strong two-way player because she can dominate a game on both ends of the court. Her defense is usually the catalyst for her offense as she is equally dangerous in passing lanes or just stripping the ball. Once she gets out in transition, she’s almost unstoppable because of speed and ability to finish at the basket. She’s also a great passer with good vision and anticipation.

She did well sharing the ball making good passes in transition and also showing off some good moves of her own to score. She was active on the defensive in getting her hands on the ball for deflections and tips. overall she had a solid showing. She was one of the fastest players in the building, no one could really stay in front of her.

A good young prospect at the guard position who can play the 1 or the 2! She is strong with the ball in her hands even at her size she will attack the rim to get buckets. An Unselfish high IQ player that is willing to find her teammates in that flow of the game and make them better.
