It's the beginning of October, which means the Fall rankings updates throughout the site are winding down.
Gia is a strong, somewhat physical guard who plays with a nice motor. She played in the 17U division throughout the Spring & Summer, and while she had a handful of Freshman "moments", she also did some nice things and adjusted to the size and speed of the game. She does a little of everything well and brings good balance to the backcourt. She can handle it a little and trigger the offense, she can knock down an open perimeter jumper or attack the basket, and she's a solid on-ball defender who will make hustle plays at that end.

Ariah is a nice multisport athlete for the Spartans, and she possesses good length, fluid athleticism, plus some skillful versatility. She'll likely be a regular on JV this year for a once again loaded Homestead squad, but she could very well earn her way onto the Varsity roster and even into meaningful action early this season. She can handle it a little, especially in transition, she can shoot it a little outside, plus she can slice to the basket. Her soccer training has likely helped her with her quickness and ability to defend the ball much better.

Anica did manage to find her way into 20 Varsity contests as a rookie in a very good Kingsmen backcourt. She has nice length, a wiry strength, and she's a solid all-around athlete. Where she can likely help them the most this year is, she has the potential to become a dangerous perimeter shooter. Add to that her willingness to defend against bigger players and go inside to rebound, and she brings the right mindset and motor to help Penn be successful. I'd look for her to maybe play early and often this season because of her hustle.

I saw Camille for the first time this Fall at a PGH Indiana showcase event. She is a strong, physical guard who definitely likes to get downhill. She plays with good North/South athleticism, a nice motor when on attack, plus she will collect offensive rebounds and create second chances for her teams. She can handle it an initiate the offense at times, but I think she's better as a scorer right now. She's also a tough-nosed defender who is willing to play with some physicality and outplays her height. Look for her to find a role this Winter at LN.

Westfield has a nice, young nucleus of guards, especially in the 2029 class with [player_tooltip player_id='1267070' first='Lillian' last='Clark'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1263930' first='Gabby' last='Bassett'] starting last season. Avery is someone who can eventually add some perimeter shooting, a little ball skill, plus a good motor and the willingness to defend and rebound. She possesses good length, she's a fairly fluid athlete, and she makes several hustle plays each time out. The 'Rocks did graduate five members of the 2026 class, with three of them being guards, so look for Avery to fight for a rotation spot early in 2026-2027.

It has been a few years since LaPorte was a top contender in their Sectional, but recently they've been building up on young talent. Eva is a wiry-strong, fairly athletic guard prospect who stepped into the lineup as a rookie last year and was third in scoring, second in assists, and third in steals per game for the Slicers. She has broad shoulders and is strong on attack, but she can also knock down an open rhythm jumper from outside. Additionally, she's a gritty defender, a willing rebounder, and she often makes winning plays for her team.

Olivia already averaged 13.1 points per game as a Freshman, but I would expect her to make another jump as a Sophomore and start becoming an even more well-rounded player. She has tremendous length, she's fluidly athletic, and she might still be growing. She has some touch outside, she can handle it and start the offense, plus she's a solid defender with her length. As she finishes growing and gets a little stronger, look for her to be more assertive to the rim, plus she'll become a more physical rebounder and defender.
