Expert Analysis
Darvoni Christopher | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Bassett had a strong freshman season at Westfield, and her spring AAU performances continued to show why she is one of the more intriguing young guards to monitor. She displayed a polished skill set offensively with the ability to handle the basketball, create offense, and knock down perimeter shots. Her confidence stood out throughout the spring, especially when defenses tried to pressure her. Bassett looked comfortable making reads with the basketball in her hands and did a good job controlling pace offensively.
One of the more impressive parts of her game is her ability to score in different ways. She can knock down shots from the outside, attack off the dribble, and make plays in transition. Bassett also showed solid court awareness and the ability to create opportunities for teammates when defenses collapsed. Considering the varsity experience she already gained as a freshman, combined with her overall offensive skill set, she looks like a player who could continue climbing as one of the better guards in Indiana’s 2029 class.

earned valuable varsity experience this past season for a talented Westfield program, even making several starts against strong competition. Stepping into meaningful varsity minutes on an experienced team speaks to her trustworthiness, work ethic, and overall basketball IQ.
Bassett impacts the game with her ability to play under control while contributing in multiple areas. She moves well without the basketball, makes smart reads offensively, and competes hard defensively. Her ability to adjust to varsity speed and physicality throughout the season helped her continue gaining confidence every game.
What stands out most is her willingness to embrace her role and make winning plays. Whether it is defending, handling pressure, or creating offense within the flow of the game, Bassett showed she can contribute at a high level. With more experience now under her belt, she should continue to grow into an even bigger piece for the Westfield program.

Gabby is an extremely long, wiry, and likely still-growing point guard prospect. She stepped in as a Freshman and earned her opportunity, standing out as one of a few youngsters to make her mark for the Shamrocks. What’s intriguing is her best days are well in front of her. She is fluid and somewhat smooth, and she averaged 9.8 points and 2.0 assists per game. As she finishes growing and gets a little stronger, it will only help her shooting percentages, plus she’ll be able to play lower and defend the ball better. She already does a nice job of using her length defensively.

Gabby is an extremely long, wiry, and fairly athletic combo guard who has helped the Shamrocks quite a bit this season, especially when it comes to providing some stability in the backcourt. She has shown the ability to knock down open jumpers outside when she’s set and in rhythm, but she is also a very good free throw shooter and can use that as a weapon as well. She is a willing rebounder, a nice passer, and she has a very bright future ahead of her. Gabby is averaging 10.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists on a very tough schedule for Westfield.
