She is incredibly efficient from the field and can score in bunches. Alex is a good defender and rebounder solidifying herself as a two-way player. Claire will have an opportunity to earn a starting position this year after serving last season in a reserve role off of the bench. There certainly will be some competition at the starting point-guard position but Claire is someone capable of getting the job. She is a long and athletic 5'9 that can really defend. She is great at anticipating opportunities for steals in both the full-court and half-court. Her lengthy arms get into passing lanes and cause deflections. Claire does a good job of letting the game come to her and making winning plays. I am excited to see how she plays this season for a Deacons team with high expectiations.

Kaelynn Talley

State: North Dakota
School: Mandan
Club: Sanford Sports Academy

Talley had bursts of excellence last season for a really good Mandan squad. I watched a game where she single-handedly went on an 8-0 run herself by getting to the basket and drawing fouls. She gets to the charity stripe and calmly knocks down free-throws. She has a good change of speed and direction that allows her to gain advantages when driving to the basket. She is a menace defensively and fits in well with the Braves full-court press. She turns opponents and gets deflections with active hands. She is a good shooter who can stretch the floor from deep. I expect Kaelynn to be in the mix and play a lot of minutes this season.
