She is always looking to deflect passes and shots, and she makes the offense work for every inch. She delivered accurate passes to open teammates. She is good at attacking closeouts and driving off the catch, she makes the right kick-out reads, and she can throw her body around down low. She also had several impressive defensive reps and shot blocks. I can see her succeeding at any position between the 2 and the 5. You don't see a high school big every day who can run a half-court offense up top and also run a fast break, but that's exactly what she did—mind you, she was doing it with players she'd never played with before. She has all the movements down, including sealing off a fronting defender in the post, quick rolls to the rim off dribble handoffs, and great footwork all around. Instead of getting sped up, she operates at a controlled pace and uses soft touch rather than raw power to finish inside. She isn't all finesse, though; she also crashes the offensive glass with a high motor. Rowe will make you pay if you forget about her outside shot; her release is as silky as they come. She stood out as a unicorn in the gym. I would encourage D-I programs to give her a chance — she might not be the type of big you look for first, but she may be the one you need.

Betteridge didn't have a huge scoring day, but she stayed engaged, fought hard on defense, dove for loose balls, made aggressive passes, and took smart shots. I have had the chance to meet and learn about her through this event, and I believe she's someone to watch closely in the Oregon area. She has always quietly done her job at Forest Grove as a shooter, facilitator, defender and great teammate. Now a senior, she is getting more vocal and is highly motivated to play at the next level. She played like it here at the Expo, and she did the little things that coaches want to see. Any team she plays for is getting a well-rounded, team-oriented guard that won't shy away from pressure or physicality. If you don't believe me, take it from her high school coach.

Some may doubt Koehnke because of her small-school background, but when she comes to these showcases, she puts all those concerns to bed. She put up her usual numbers on some of the best players in Washington, regardless of graduating class. She is one of the most relentless attacking guards in the PNW. She has an ability to absorb contact rarely seen in players her size, and because of her conditioning, she can do it for multiple plays in a row without losing a step. Koehnke knows when to call her own number, but she also gets her teammates involved. She dropped a few pick-and-roll dimes to [player_tooltip player_id='1153957' first='Anna' last='Rowe'] and also delivered her a perfect downcourt pass over the defense for a transition layup. The outside shot isn't something she falls in love with, but when the defense sags off to defend the dribble drive, she turns into a deadly shooter.

Bellini plays the game with calm confidence. We know she can shoot, and she hit some nice shots, but she didn't demand the ball outside the flow of the offense. Instead, she continued to run hard, make the right pass, contest shots, and communicate, which is what great players do when it's not their day to score. She was a last-second addition to this team and impacted them positively. Bellini proudly represents her Fil-Am heritage too, and I'm always a fan of that!

With that, my coverage of the 2026 Washington Expo is complete. I'm grateful I got to be there, meet these awesome athletes, and be a small part of their ascent and recruiting journeys. Best of luck to all the girls hoopers in Washington, Oregon and the whole PNW.

The Auburn Fieldhouse was a madhouse on Sunday, Sep. 6, as some of the Pacific Northwest's elite girls basketball talent congregated under one roof for the annual Expo showcase. Every 5-on-5 team gets an evaluation article, and my last write-up will be for team 9. This team was set apart by its wealth of tenacious guard play surrounding an uber-skilled big. They were truly one of the most fun teams to watch in the whole gym, and that includes the boys' events too.

She dropped a few pick-and-roll dimes to Anna Rowe Anna Rowe Anna Rowe 6'2" | PF/C Bainbridge | 2027 State WA and also delivered her a perfect downcourt pass over the defense for a transition layup. The outside shot isn't something she falls in love with, but when the defense sags off to defend the dribble drive, she turns into a deadly shooter.

With that, my coverage of the 2026 Washington Expo is complete. I'm grateful I got to be there, meet these awesome athletes, and be a small part of their ascent and recruiting journeys. Best of luck to all the girls hoopers in Washington, Oregon and the whole PNW.
