There are plenty of ways to put points on the board, and Week 1 of We Ball in the Fall at Northview High School featured players who showed they could score in a variety of situations. Some stretched the defense with their shooting, while others attacked off the bounce, found opportunities in transition, or created extra possessions on the offensive glass. Having more than one way to score makes a player tougher to defend, and these five found different ways to create offense throughout the afternoon.

Zanijha showed the ability to score from the perimeter while also finding opportunities closer to the basket. She knocked down multiple shots from behind the arc, giving the defense a consistent perimeter threat to account for. Zanijha also showed nice footwork around the rim with a step-through to create a scoring opportunity. She was effective in the open floor as well, running hard in transition and getting rewarded with a bucket. Her ability to score from deep, use her footwork at the basket, and get out in transition gave her several different ways to contribute offensively.

Carley made an impact with her ability to generate offense both in the half court and in transition. She knocked down shots from behind the arc, but she didn't rely solely on her perimeter shooting to produce points. Carley ran the floor hard and put herself in position to score in transition, while also working on the offensive glass to create additional opportunities. She contributed defensively as well, picking a pocket for a steal and giving her team another chance to get out and attack before the defense could get set.

Claire did some of her best work around the basket and on the offensive glass. She tracked down multiple offensive rebounds, creating extra possessions and putting herself in position to score around the rim. One of her more impressive finishes came after an offensive board when she converted with a reverse layup. Claire also showed she could create off the bounce, ripping baseline past her defender and using a floater to finish the play. Her ability to attack the glass while also putting the ball on the floor gave her multiple avenues to generate offense.

Brooklyn showed a versatile offensive game during Week 1. She connected on multiple threes, forcing defenders to respect her away from the basket, but she also showed creativity once she got inside. Brooklyn used a nice up-and-under move around the rim and converted an and-one when finishing through contact. She also attacked and created for others with a drive-and-kick. Brooklyn brought effort to the defensive end as well, coming away with a steal and diving on the floor for a loose ball. Her combination of shooting, finishing, playmaking, and hustle allowed her to contribute in several areas.

Lucy showed one of the more varied offensive skill sets I watched during Week 1. She knocked down a three from the wing, converted an offensive-board putback, and consistently found ways to attack the basket. Lucy used a spin move in the lane that was difficult to contain, slashed down the lane for a finger-roll finish, and ripped by a defender from the wing to get toward the rim. She also showed good awareness after securing a defensive rebound, delivering a great pass ahead in transition. Lucy's combination of perimeter shooting, footwork, attacking ability, and passing gave the defense several things to account for.
