In Georgia's largest high school athletic classification, you have some of the state's all-time winningest schools in athletics across the board. Schools like Valdosta, Carrollton, and Buford are not just household names in Georgia, but are known nationally for their athletic prowess. New and emerging powers like Grayson, South Forsyth, and North Paulding have only made the state's reputation for producing some of the best athletes in the country stronger. The players who made this preseason list for AAAAAAA All-State in girls' basketball beat out some worthy contenders. However, each of these players earned and deserves their spot on this list.

Morris had a historic freshman season at South Forsyth averaging over 27 points per game and finishing the season with an ultra-impressive 830 points. I think there is a very good chance she will eclipse 1,000 points in a season before her career is over. She added nearly 300 rebounds in her first prep campaign, a number she can realistically double in each of the next three years. Morris is the number three ranked player nationally in the 2029 class and has become a name known around the country due to her scoring and more specifically, elite shooting ability for very far out. Morris has well over 35 Division One offers and is a major priority for some of the best Power Four programs in the country. Morris recently visited Clemson for the Miami game and will be in Baton Rouge for the LSU football game versus Alabama.

There is not a more physically gifted player in the state with the size, athleticism, and high ceiling than Miami. She does things on the court that most other players can't and makes it look easy in the process. She is a dominant player on the block with her back to the basket and equally effective facing up to the basket once she receives the ball. If given the time and opportunity from three point range, Solomon can be very effective there as well. Miamia put up some jaw dropping stat lines several times as a sophomore and going back as far as middle school. including multiple 20 point 20 rebound games. The 2-AAAAAAA Region Player of the Year currently holds offers from Memphis, Georgia Southern, George Mason, UAB, and West Georgia.

For a lot of people Kenzie was the very best player on the very best team, loaded with future college players, in the state of Georgia last year at North Paulding. With two years remaining, Hinkson already holds offers from Furman, UT-Chattanooga, Jacksonville State, Mercer, and West Georgia. That list will probably double by this time next year. Hinkson is pound for pound one of the very best players in Georgia regardless of class. Whether it was at Peach Games, the Prep Girls Hoops Georgia Expo, or any of the countless other times I have watched Kenzie play the last year, she has more than held her own and come away as a standout player. She scored with ease from all three levels at the Prep Girls Hoops Expo last month, something I have seen her do time and time again.

Fields will be the best player on one of the better teams in AAAAAAA and recently made her college decision by choosing to stay home and play for Kennesaw State University over the likes of ETSU, Stetson, Georgia State, and Furman. E'miah combines power with skill and finesse to score very effectively and efficiently from 15-18 feet and in. Defensively, Fields has feasted out of Buford's press where she turns defense into offense regularly using her anticipation skills to intercept passes before scoring. She is a very good slasher with the basketball in the half court and an underrated shooter from the perimeter. With the departure of Lydia Ledford (now playing at UTC), I expect her stats to see an sizable jump as she will have more opportunities to score with the basketball in her hands.

Dunn is one of the more intriguing players in the state as there is not much she cannot do on the basketball court. I talked with more than one Division One coach at the GBCA Live event in June about Ansley and her skill, competitiveness, and mental strength/toughness may end up outweighing her lack of height. Opposing teams may know what is coming when facing Dunn, but stopping her is a whole nothing entirely. She has put on some very impressive performances against big time competition the last few years. With two seasons left, Dunn is more concerned about the present and the very difficult region Cherokee is in with Etowah, Marietta, and North Paulding. Heading into what I believe will be a huge junior year offensively, Dunn already holds offers from and has visited West Georgia, North Georgia, and Young Harris.

Leah is one of the top 2-3 players in the state to watch just from an entertainment standpoint and was recently named the number 39 prospect in her class nationally by ESPN. Athletically, she is elite which enables her to routinely make highlight blocks on the defensive end. DeWitt is particularly good at running people down on the break and swatting lay up attempts seemingly out of nowhere. Offensively, Leah attacks the basket with the same natural gifts allowing her to convert some pretty special finishes at the rim. She is an outstanding shooter from three-point range and has a very consistent mid-range pull up jumper. No surprise that some of the best colleges in the country have already offered including Notre Dame, NC State, Vanderbilt, Michigan, and the home state Yellow Jackets and Lady Bulldogs. She has continued to add and improve her game each year and I expect nothing less in her junior season. She should keep Marietta in contention in one of, if not, the toughest regions in Georgia or anywhere for that matter.

London burst onto the scene as a freshman at Newton putting everyone on notice that she was going to be one of the very best players in the 2027 class in Georgia. Her career stats heading into her final season are very impressive playing three years at the highest level in Georgia. She has averages of 15.7 points per game, 3.1 assists per game, nearly 6 rebounds per game, and over two steals per game for her career. Smith's work ethic and willingness to learn is what Newton coach Jawan Bailey is most proud of, "My favorite star of hers is moving from 57 assists to 96 assists from her sophomore to junior year as we challenged her to become more a pure point guard in preparation for college". Job well done, coach. London recently chose coach Kristi Curry and the South Florida Bulls as the next destination on her basketball journey.

Gabby is one of the better shooters in the state who has figured out how to utilize that strength to score in other areas over her first two seasons at Norcross. I saw her team play several times in June at the GYBC Live event and Milton's June Summer league against some of the better teams in the state and each time Thomas played very well and emerged as one of the very best players on the court. Thomas is very crafty using shot fakes to get by defenders on the perimeter and also once she gets near the basket, getting shot blockers off their feet. Gabby is also very good using her jab step to get defenders backing up, creating the necessary space to get her shot off. The more experience she gets, the more her confidence seems to grow and I expect her to have a big junior year scoring the basketball. She recently visited and has offers from App State, UAB, Furman, Wofford, and North Carolina A&T.

Despite being ranked in the top 25 and number six at her position in the state for her class, Savannah is still underrated. When I was thinking about players for this article I kept coming back to her. There are not many players I would rather have with the basketball in their hands at the end of a game. I have seen her carry Etowah at times and score twenty plus points on multiple occasions for her AEBL travel team. For a long stretch she was the leading scorer for the entire EYCL 17U division this Summer. She was outstanding at Peach Games and really started making waves at the tail end of the last high school season. She is crafty and knows the game, is supremely skilled, and has a lot of confidence with the ball in her hands on the offensive end. I think she has the chance to lead Etowah on a late run in February. Savannah recently chose North Georgia College as her home for the next four years over programs like Young Harris and Middle Georgia. I think she will prove to be a steal for them in a couple of years.

I have Campbell picked as a legitimate threat to North Paulding and the AAAAAAA state championship this season and Aleigha is a big reason why. Parish is coming off of a sophomore season that saw her average 14 points and nine rebounds a game and a very impressive Spring and Summer with team Elite Hubbard. Aliegha looks like a college player right now, physically. If you watch her during warmups she will routinely touch the backboard during the layup line which is very rare in girls' basketball. She is powerful and explosive and can absorb the contact she takes finishing at the rim if she doesn't just simply elevate right over the defender. She and her twin Gabrielle both have received offers fromHoward, Stony Brook, Furman, Winthrop, and George Washington. That list will continue to grow, especially if the two can consistently shoot the basketball from the perimeter. Aleigha has the ability to take over games physically and she will need to do that if Campbell is going to win it all.
