Before making a big move from HER Elite to Team Elite Hubbard in the Spring, London had earned multiple division one offers with her play on the EYBL circuit as well as her outstanding play with Newton her first three years of high school. Since she made the switch London has received offers from Georgia Southern, South Florida, Memphis, Iona, and Kennesaw State. Going back even further Smith had offers from Jackson State, South Alabama, Furman, VCU, and Radford amongst others. She is the composer of the orchestra no matter what team she plays on. Smith is an elite ball handler but does not over dribble. London gets the ball where it needs to go with accuracy and wastes little time making life on opposing defenders difficult. She is excellent initiating and facilitating the offense while also being a constant threat to score from all three levels. Will she be able to get Newton back to the state championship game and go out as a winner is one of the biggest questions in the state in prep girls hoops in Georgia next season.

Whatever a team needs to win, Smith consistently finds a way to provide it. The versatile star once again stuffs the stat sheet while impacting virtually every possession against BounceNation. London scores at all three levels and mixes finesse with toughness throughout the game.

Against BounceNation, Smith had dazzling finishes at the rim and got hot with her three-point shot, nailing step-back threes from the corners as she dropped in three long balls in total. The do-everything star got others involved with her shifty penetration and was relentless on defense. London poured in 18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Her resume proves she is one of the elite guards in Georgia’s 2027 class.

She plays with pace and confidence, consistently putting pressure on defenses with her ability to break defenders down and get into the paint. Smith can score it, but what separates her is her control—she keeps teammates involved and understands how to run a team. Defensively, she’s active and disruptive at the point of attack.

Over the past three years I have become a real admirer of her game and how she leads her very talented Newton team. Not only do the Lady Rams play in one of, if not, the toughest regions in the state with Archer, Grayson, and others, but Coach Bailey and his team play in showcase events around the southeast against other top teams in our region. London is consistent in her excellent decision-making, knocking down big shots, and the level of calm and maturity she plays with. In the 4ThaCulture event at Whitefield against Morghan Reckley Morghan Reckley 5'8" | PG Sandy Creek | 2028 State #7 Nation GA , Smith was excellent and showed just how special she is leading her team to victory while showing she is a very skilled and capable scorer herself. Like the other players on the list, Smith is surrounded by other talented players and she is fantastic getting them involved early and often before she seizes on her opportunities to score. Don’t be surprised to see her as the lead guard of a very good Power Four team in a few years. Her college selection next year will be one I am very interested in, but until then we get one more season to enjoy watching her compose the orchestra.

Smith is a coach’s dream at the point guard position. She does an excellent job running the offense and distributing the ball to her teammates but is also a very capable scorer herself. Smith plays the game with composure and high basketball intelligence. She does a great getting to her spots and when she does, she is very difficult to stop. She uses angles and her strength to create the space needed to get her shot off. She was very good shooting the 15-18 footer and equally effective getting to the basket. Smith did a good job drawing fouls and making her free throws.

She’s a disruptive defender with a knack for making winning plays, diving for loose balls, tracking rebounds, and igniting fast breaks. London plays with edge and excels in high-pressure situations.

Up from 15: Ascended to another level come state playoff time. Dumped in 28 points against undefeated North Forsyth in the Final Four before dropping 23 points and 11 rebounds in the title game against Grayson. Relentless downhill attacker. Shifty with the ball. Plays extremely hard. Does an excellent job chasing down her own rebound. Scrappy defender.

A star was born in March. Following up a 28-point performance to topple undefeated North Forsyth in the Final Four, London Smith London Smith 5'5" | PG State #84 Nation GA struck again, exploding for 23 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block to lead Newton past Grayson 59-56 for their first state title. London avenged three prior losses to Grayson with her standout play. Smith is shifty and quick getting to the rim. Her nose for the ball is exquisite, always a threat to track down her own miss for putbacks.  Expect D-I schools to follow the lead of Dayton and offer.
