LAST SEASON

The Skyhawks had another successful season in 2023-24. The Shiloh finished the regular season with a 17-4 record. The Skyhawks went on to win the Region 4 Regional Championship and placed 6th at the State Tournament.

THIS SEASON

The Skyhawks put a lot of time in the gym this summer. They went to 6 team camps and learned a lot about the players who will be seeing varsity time this year. The Skyhawks expect to have a good season and be in the running to make the State Tournament.

As in years past, the Skyhawks are looking to play the up-tempo game. Their defense is a big key to getting their offense going. They rely on an aggressive man-to-man and trapping defense.

The Skyhawks will be a young team in that there will be many players who have played very little or no varsity minutes in the past. Some of those players who will be called upon for these minutes will be juniors Makowa Packineau and Brooke Hauser. Sophomores Katie Hammeren, Maddy Green, Madi Hauck, and Belle Winandy. Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1051230' first='Layla' last='Thompson'].

On the offensive side of the ball, the Skyhawks will be looking for a balanced attack from their starters. They feel that any player on any night could step up and have a big game. The key will be to get the rebound, get the ball to the outlet, and get the ball up the court as quickly as they can. They will also have a good inside-out game with 3 strong posts and guards who can shoot the 3 or drive past defenders.

REGION 4

Region 4 should come down to three teams who will be looking to make the State Tournament. One of those teams is Dickinson Trinity. Trinity will have a great inside-and-out combination with [player_tooltip player_id='1051392' first='Naveah' last='Berger'] (Mayville State commit) at 6 feet 2" and [player_tooltip player_id='412033' first='Annabel' last='Scheeler']. Scheeler was selected as an All-Region player and an All-State player for Class A girls basketball. She averaged 16.4 points per game and is an outstanding outside shooter. Hazen will be in the mix with their hard-nosed point guard in [player_tooltip player_id='1051389' first='Lauren' last='Doll']. Lauren is a great ball-handler, passer, and shooter. Shiloh Christian will be in the mix. They also have an All-Region point guard in [player_tooltip player_id='1051216' first='Emma' last='Duffy'] who can do everything for Shiloh. The Skyhawks will also have a productive inside-out game as they have 3 post players who measure 6 feet and quick guards who can penetrate. There will be loads of excitement in Region 4 this season!
