Rising Stars in High School Basketball: Tennessee Edition

Teams are battling&nbsp; out there against some tough conference and non conference opponents, sharpening their skills right as district play has started to take off. Even though this is an exciting time in the&nbsp; American culture where we celebrate Christmas with friends and family, it does present a little downtime for our basketball hoopers as they do their exams. In the coming weeks, there will be a lot of holiday tournaments around the state. Some teams will jump into action against other Tennessee schools, while others will head out of state and battle some squads from other places . Just know that once January hits, everyone will be a full go as the season tips back off in district play.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prior to exam week, there were a lot of girls who were filling it up. I'm talking about knocking down shots consistently at a high clip, while helping their ball club stack wins. Their body of work was very impressive as you could just look at the stat sheet and see the impact these girls had for their ball team. The old saying “ game recognizes game” rings true as if you were able to take a game in and see any of these talented young ladies in action,&nbsp; you would know right from the start who were the serious ball players. Maybe it was the way they approached the game, with confidence and swagger. Maybe it was the look in their eyes. Maybe their movement in pregame. She gives her team an edge and they definitely play with some swagger. Multi level scoring thread who is shifty with the ball in her hands. She's a threat anywhere on the court and will find a way to put the ball in the bottom of the net. She's one of the best guards in the state and brings a tremendous amount of energy to the floor as she carves up opponents. Don't sleep on her ability to get it done on the defensive end because she is active at doing that as well. I've seen this young lady in multiple settings and this kid can flat out play. Doesn't matter the opponent or the platform, she's going to take it to the opponent, making them remember her name. Can score it from all 3 levels, great in the transition game, contributes on the boards, solid on the defensive end, this kid is a tough competitor and brings confidence to all around her. She should be in conversation as one of the top kids in her class. If not, she is really close. Determined . Amazing work ethic. She has overcome some adversity in her career and she has handled it like a pro. This kid should win a comeback player of the year if there is one. Her ability to compete at a high level against opponents despite her size is crazy good. She is a remarkable teammate who puts team over self. But focusing on her, she's a 3 level scoring threat who had a 40pt game just last week. She can score in big volumes like that,  but her ability to be solid on both ends of the floor is good. She is a great two way player who prides herself on creating havoc on the defensive end, which leads to easy offensive opportunities. Plays with a motor and is hard to contain. She's been owning the boards, eliminating second chance opportunities for opponents. She's gritty, powerful, and finishes around the rim. Determined individual who gets after it no matter who the opponent is. Have seen a lot of growth in her game . With that comes confidence as she is solid on both ends of the floor. Truly anchors the middle and is a force to be reckoned with. Calm. Poise. Just a few words that describe this young lady's game. If you personally know Bella, you would know that she is a gym rat who loves the process of getting better. Her game has evolved over the years and you can just tell she is in a comfortable place. Her shot looks great, her handles are tight, she contributes on the defensive end by getting steals, deflections, and rebounds. Her confidence to pull the trigger from multiple spots on the floor is crazy good. She plays so effortlessly and every time she touches the ball, you think something great is going to come out of it. She has a Stephen Curry-esque feel to her game. When I tell you when that shot goes up, everyone in the gym believes it is going in. Solid ball player who is on a tear and will continue to ascend on this upwards trajectory.<br><br></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
