About Avery

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I have a very long, but tall frame. I can work the guard sport and the post spot. I like to transition the ball right from the rebound. I can be the rebounder, passer, or runner.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a very competitive, but fun mentality. I am always trying to make everyone else better but I continue to work on improving my skills. I have an entertaining personality and love the game.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in many outside clubs and other sports. I currently manage the Varsity team (since I am in 8th grade). I am also engaged in soccer, track/field, and volleyball. I am a part of the student government and the honor roll.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I grew up doing a lot of community service. I am a part of the Hebron Haunted House which helps raise money for the Hebron Angel Tree. We raise over $10,000 each year and get to shop for families in need during Christmas time. I have developed leadership skills from being brought up to play a grade higher than I was (since sixth grade), and this allowed me to work on my playmaking.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have faced challenges. I transferred schools in my eighth-grade year, and I had a more shy personality at the time. I was welcomed with open arms and never looked back. Those girls are my friends and teammates now.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking to play at a higher level. I would like to major in Animal Sciences, so whichever colleges provide that major.

Avery Elijah Avery Elijah Avery Elijah 5'10" | SF/PG Kouts | 2029 IN displayed an impressive all-around game at the Freshman Showcase. Her strong ball-handling ability stood out as she went up against physical guards, maintaining control and creating opportunities on the floor. She consistently made smart offensive decisions, reading the defense well and knowing when to score or set up her teammates. Elijah also showed her shooting range, knocking down shots from beyond the three-point line while proving she can get to the elbow for mid-range jumpers. With her skill set and offensive versatility, she’ll be an exciting addition to Kouts’ roster as a freshman and a player who can make an immediate impact.
