Friday Night Action (Part 1)

Kyleigh is a vocal leader that plays the game the right way! The Lady Waves came out on top against Harriman 62-59. In the contest, Cawood poured in 27 points, 5 steals, and 4 assists. This is an impressive stat line for any athlete and Cawood can put up numbers like this against anyone. She continues to excel at many different aspects of the game. She's a tenacious defender. She's extremely ball savvy. Armes finished the game with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks! Skylar Diggins stands at 5'9 and she once stated, "It's not about how big you are.. what matters is how big you play!" Armes stands 6 feet tall so she definitely has the size. Tonight, she added a big exclamation mark beside her name because she played so much bigger! I have always loved Addie's shot blocking ability. She uses her size and length to continue to block shots and rebound! She's making a huge impact on both sides of the court. This Bearden team is talented and Caitlin made her impact on both ends of the court. Caitlin finished with 8 points and numerous hustle plays! She got the game started by hitting a beautiful 3! She hit another crucial one in the 3rd quarter to give Bearden a lead. I love the motor that she has and the energy that she continues to play with any time she is on the court. She's always active! When she isn't on the court, you can guarantee to see her get out of her seat to root on her teammates. She is going to go after every rebound and she is going to box you out! Harper is a fundamentally sound athlete that can stretch the floor fast. She uses her frame exceptionally well at both ends of the floor. Again, she has a nice touch when scoring on the inside. She is a great inside-out athlete that understands the game. She runs the floor exceptionally well and understands how to fill the lanes! She sets good screens and continues to do the dirty work. She also added to her block total by getting two more in the win against Gatlinburg-Pittman. Stewart is an outstanding two way player that continues to fill up an entire stat sheet. The dual sport athlete continues to impress! I love the heart and dedication that Maddy has to be great at both softball and basketball. On 10/3/24, Maddy wrote, "I have loved two sports my whole life. A lot of people have pushed me to pick one, telling me if I didn't I would likely not get good enough to play at the next level." Let's add that Maddy did not listen and she chose to excel in both sports. In that same week, Stewart picked up offers to play softball and basketball at the next level.
