NOVA Standouts Of The Week 1/20/25-1/24/25

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Langley Freshman<br></strong>Both [player_tooltip player_id='1201271' first='Mariah' last='Armah'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1003768' first='Alice' last='Allen'] have had an outstanding freshman season after coming into the year unranked. Langley is one of the best teams in NOVA, and they flexed their muscle this week. They had comfortable wins over two solid teams, and the freshmen led them this week. I've broken down both of these player's games in the past, and they again impressed. Robinson's defense was elite this game, especially early. [player_tooltip player_id='389125' first='Georgia' last='Simonsen'] stood out to me on that end. She had a few emphatic blocks, and she showed her defensive versatility. She didn't have a huge scoring game, but she still had 14. She is a fantastic driver, defender, is quick, and can knock down threes. She creates a lot of turnovers that lead to easy buckets, and she has made a big impact in her freshman year for Robinson. Jaymie is an active and versatile defender. Jaymie does a great job on the glass and did a great job getting open to finish her teammate's passes around the rim. [player_tooltip player_id='883677' first='Frances' last='Shapiro'] had a nice game in this one, and she led Washington Liberty in scoring with 18. Frances is an active defender and a fantastic rebounder for her size. Sami is a double-double machine and one of the best Freshman in the state right now. I've talked about Sami a lot this year but this may have been her best week. She had two double-doubles and averaged 26.5 PPG and 11.5 RPG. Sami is versatile, and she can play as a wing, or she can play in the paint.
