Southern Arizona 6A Playoff Preview

The 6A Conference Playoff Bracket is muddled right now to say the least. Many of the Teams in the Open Bracket are from the 6A Conference. A lot of those teams will drop back into the 6A Bracket after the Open Rounds 1 and 2 are over. What we do know is that Sunnyside, Rincon, and Tucson High are all in the Dance one way or the other.   Sunnyside won the 6A South Region and is slotted at #17 and will face crosstown rival #16 Pueblo out of the 5A Conference. That game will be a fierce battle in front of a raucous crowd. Sunnyside Senior [player_tooltip player_id='921151' first='Janae' last='Pritchett'] will be key to the Blue Devils winning this game. She is battle tested and she can take over a game in an instant. Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1139253' first='Bella' last='Quiroga'] is another player that will have to perform well for Sunnyside. She will be under pressure in this game and her ability to handle the press and score when her opportunities are there will be critical.   Rincon will rely heavily on the scoring of Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='788383' first='Leila' last='O'Dowd']. She is a prolific scoring Forward that is very hard to defend or prepare for. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1196451' first='Daphne' last='Safo'] will also be critical for the Rangers because she is their best defender and rebounder.   Tucson High will have an uphill battle in the Playoffs but Junior [player_tooltip player_id='892652' first='Destiney' last='Brown'] will have the Badgers competitive and give them a chance. She is a terrific defender that is terrific in transition off of steals or run outs.   6A Southern Arizona Impact Players:    [player_tooltip player_id='921151' first='Janae' last='Pritchett'] is a terrific combo guard that is the key to the Blue Devil's success. She is a tenacious lock-down defender that creates havoc for opposing offenses. She is a very good shooter and passer, and is terrific at finishing at the rim on the fast break with euro's or floaters. She is battle tested playing Varsity level competition since 7th grade. She has picked up some college offers and will play on the next level.     Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1139253' first='Bella' last='Quiroga'] is an up and coming player that is just scratching the surface on her potential. She is an excellent passer, that has great court vision. She also is a very good 3 point shooter. Bella is very poised for a Freshman especially in press situations. She will continue to develop and she has a high ceiling.     [player_tooltip player_id='788383' first='Leila' last='O'Dowd'] is a prolific scorer that already has surpassed 1,000 career points. She has a unique knack of creating open looks for herself as most defenses key on her. She is also a high IQ player that understands the game within the game and has good leadership qualities.     [player_tooltip player_id='1196451' first='Daphne' last='Safo'] is a very good defensive player and rebounder. She understands her role within the team and plays it well. She is versatile in the post and can score on several different moves. She is a good passer and she can shoot the mid range well.     [player_tooltip player_id='892652' first='Destiney' last='Brown'] is a lightning quick guard that is terrific in transition offense. She is the fastest player I've seen with the ball in her hands in the open floor. She has good shooting range and she is excellent on the drive. She is a very good defender that is long and quick which creates a lot of turnovers. She can play on the next level.
