Friday's State Semifinals Standouts

The Class 4 and 5 state semifinal games were held on Friday at the Mizzou Arena, on the campus of the University of Missouri. Prep Girls Missouri takes a look at the top standout performers from those four games.    The 5'9" 2027 guard put on a sparkling performance in the Donettes 55-47 victory over MICDS in the Class 4 semifinals. She finished the game with 27 points and eight rebounds. When her team faced an early deficit, she changed the trajectory of the game with three consecutive 3-pointers on three successive possessions. In the second half, when went to work as she used her strength and craftiness to get buckets and also get to the free throw line where she made eight of 10.     The 2026 shooting guard scored a team high 14 points in the Hawks victory over Fort Zumwalt South in the Class 5 semifinals. She displayed a smooth stroke from the perimeter as she knocked down four 3-pointers. She has a quick release and she does a good job of moving without the ball to her spots on the floor to get open. She also defends well on the full court press.     The 5'9" 2027 had the most impressive defensive display of any individual player here in Columbia, boys or girls. She had nine steals in the Stars victory over Helias in the Class 5 semifinals. She was a one-girl full court press and she picked pockets in the open court and shot the passing lanes for steals. Her anticipation and tenacity were uncanny. She also scored nine points as she used her quickness and change of direction to get into the lane off the dribble.     The 2026 point guard had a stellar all-around game in the Lady Cardinals victory over Logan-Rogersville in the Class 4 semifinals. She pushed the pace on offense and also set the table in the half-court sets. She had a game-high 17 points, along with five assists and three steals. She's a confident ball handler who handles pressure well. I remember her as a freshman in the 2023 Final Four and how poised she was on the big stage of the state tournament.     The 6'0" small forward had 19 points and 10 rebounds against Benton in the Class 4 semifinals. She caused matchup problems with her height versatile skill set. She has developed from a 3-point shooter as a freshman to an overall bucket-getter from anywhere. She used her height to score in the post effectively and she can also operate on the perimeter. She is also a good secondary ball handler who can facilitate when needed.     The 5'9" 2026 forward scored a team-high 15 points in the Class 5 semifinals against St. Teresa's. She plays much bigger than her actual size as she excels in the low post. She gets good position with her strength and she can score on a variety of moves. She was also catching the ball at the high post and making moves off the dribble to score. She can go either left or right with equal effectiveness.
