To kick off the week [player_tooltip player_id='311388' first='Lauren' last='Walker'] of Central DeWitt High School switched her commitment to compete at UNI following these next few months. Walker is one of the most efficient players that the State of Iowa has seen over the past 10 years. She is a prospect that can score it on offense at all three levels in any way you would like. Defensively, she makes quick plays on the ball and shows her natural instincts almost every time down the floor in one way or another. I think Walker has a good chance of actually playing during her career with the Panthers. She is smart enough to learn her role early on and that is going to help her compete for minutes at the beginning of her collegiate career.

[player_tooltip player_id='592199' first='Aubrey' last='Kelly'] of [program_tooltip program_id='715980' first='Team' last='Iowa'] 17U picked up another offer after this past weekend. This time to Coe College in Cedar Rapids. Kelly is a 5'10 PF with more versatility than you might imagine. She does a good job of holding her own in her matchups under the hoop but she can also step out and be a viable option with action happening out at the three point line. It's looking like Kelly is being recruited primarily at the D3 level so I wouldn't be surprised if Coe ends up being one of her top choices. It's a program coming off of a fantastic season as a whole.

After starting off her AAU season on the right note, [player_tooltip player_id='782232' first='Lena' last='Evans'] received her first official offer from D3 - Cornell College. This is the first offer but it won't be the last for Evans. This is a guard with skill, smarts, physicality, athletic ability, and understanding of how to be a leader for the others around her. She has a shifty crossover move from right to left and she loves getting all the way to the hoop for AND1 opportunities. She can also defend at a high rate and cause a lot of chaos defensively with her tendency to get her hands on the ball. Prior to AAU season starting, Evans did visit a D2 program and she has had others reach out in the mean time with interest so it'll be exciting to see where this leads her as she moves into the Summer months.

Graceland University out of Iowa got an important commitment out of [player_tooltip player_id='502328' first='Amiyja' last='Hughes'] of Omaha Central High School. Hughes competes as a 5'5 CG that moves around the floor into multiple spots. She can play the 1, 2, or 3 depending on what is needed at the high school level but in college, I think she will be more of a 1 or a 2. I'm feeling with her scoring ability and her ability to produce without the ball that she will be put at the 2 but it's too early to tell. I'm sure that Hughes is just happen to be locked in and committed to playing ball for four more years. If she works on her weakness, she is going to be a really solid committee for the Yellow Jackets.

[player_tooltip player_id='794878' first='Asia' last='Beale'] picked up an Ellsworth CC offer to start off the month of April. This offer is another one on the journey for Beale. She already possesses a handful of those from CC's throughout the Midwest so it'll be interesting where she ends up going. Beale is a 5'8 SF, that really handled action in the paint this past Winter for her Prairie program. She was her team's force at the Center position a good amount of the time, doing what she could against bigger opponents on a regular basis. There was never a time during the season that I thought Beale was outmatched. She always did really well by the hoop and that stood out with her only being 5'8. This morning Beale actually ended up committing to the Panthers at Ellsworth. A big pickup for the Panthers program in the grand scheme of things.

I have a feeling this is going to be a vital AAU season for [player_tooltip player_id='560333' first='Kendra' last='Boatman']. Boatman just made the switch to Missouri Phenom out of Iowa and frankly her team is loaded with college level talent. Not only is that going to help her compete in live games but it will also sharpen up her skills in practice. This week Boatman received her most recent offers from Elmhurst College out of Illinois and Central (Dutch) College out of Iowa. These are two more offers to add to the pile for Boatman as she is starting to have them stack up. I'm sure with this Spring/Summer on the road, those offers are only going to continue to grow until she commits. Which is a good problem to have.
