Evans game supplements Lower’s in multiple ways when they compete together. Evans isn’t the high caliber shooter that Lower is but she does about everything else while also being a pretty steady shot herself from behind the arc. Her first step quickness, athletic ability, and knowledge of situations helps her standout on the hardwood most nights. We saw bits of that yesterday. There were time that she got several shots to fall at the rim in the half court, she recorded multiple steals and rebounds leading to transition buckets in the handful throughout, and she played unselfish basketball as a whole – always making the right play in whatever given situation. Evans has been a major piece to this team’s puzzle all season long and I don’t think we should expect that to change moving into State next week. She will be apart of their plan then it’s just all about how they execute.

is without a doubt the X-Factor for Clear Creek-Amana’s upcoming tournament run. CCA’s only two regular season losses were without Evans, who was briefly sidelined with an ankle injury. With Evans back in stride the squad looks to be back at full strength. Evans has put up a heck of a senior year, averaging 18 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists and an impressive 4.1 steals per game. Her leadership, poise, and hustle on both ends of the floor are a difference maker for CCA and help them to maintain their high-octane pace. I’ve got my odds on Evans to help CCA finish their season with a bang.

The CCA Clippers have put together a memorable season up to this point as they still sit without a loss as we move in the start of February. This season has been memorable because everyone is pitching in and their stars are handling businesses. One of those stars being Senior SG/CG –

. Evans has shown up on both sides of the ball every game this Winter. Sometimes she shows out and leads them in scoring but she is mainly the type of player that can do anything for you on the offensive end from the guard position. She is extremely athletic for her size and weight, making her tough to keep off the boards and out of the steals column in general while being someone who can score it at a thorough rate as well offensively. The Clippers will have a shot to make a run during these next few weeks as we walk into the Playoffs. If Evans and

One of my favorite performances from last week’s action was that from Clear Creek Amana’s

. The smooth shooting guard was dicing defenders up early and showed her ability to adapt to different defenses all game long. Evans finished the game with 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists and I feel that none of her conversions looked the same. Evans showed ability at every level — faking defenders at the rim for clean finishes, pulling a contested three behind a screen, firing off the dribble when defenders were set in the lane, finishing through contact, and drawing fouls to get to the free throw line. One of my favorite aspects of her game is her handles when attacking downhill. If Evans keeps this production up all year, I’m predicting post season accolades in the Senior’s future.

at the CG position. Evans stands out because she is always the first one on the floor for a loose ball, she records several tips/deflections/steals at high rate each contest, she can score from all offensive levels, and she communicates well with the others around her on both sides of the ball. Evans started off this ball game by grabbing several steals and converting those into finishes down on the other end in the first half. She also recorded several assists throughout the duration of this entire game. She had a few assists in transition, a few against a zone defense within the half court, and a few in her team’s offensive system. All in all, this was a respectable showing out of Evans for her first game of the regular season. She demonstrated that she is most definitely a college level player and that she is only going to get better with experience.

out of Clear Creek Amana. The combo guard did a little of everything for the Clippers last year and her stats showed it — averaging 17.4 points, 5 boards, 2.6 assists and an eye-catching 3.8 steals per game. Evans is a workhorse off the floor as well and I’m really looking forward to seeing how her game has progressed heading into her senior season. I predict the Doane Univeristy commit will continue to flash her efficiency this season as a 1-2 punch fellow guard,

. This group goes as far as these two hoopers can take them and they are both well aware of that fact. As a prospect, Evans is a coordinated SG with some crafty abilities once she gets into the teeth of the defense. She is the definition of a scrappy competitor, while still being fairly skilled in most facets of the game. All in all, I see Evans having a respectable career at the next level. Within the right system and with the right confidence, she is going to be able to take her game to places she has never thought of before. That’s for sure.

of CCA High School has received a lot of love this AAU season from the next level as it pertains to her future on the hardwood. Evans recently visited two NAIA schools out of the Midwest in Doane (NE) and Briar Cliff (IA) while trying to figure out where she would like to go following her senior season. These are another two solid options to add to the stack that Evans already possesses. I have a gut feeling that she will come to a decision sooner rather than later, wanting to enjoy her final campaign on the high school floor but we will see. Whoever gets Evans is getting something that is going to shine at whichever level she competes at. It’s just all about finding the right fit.

and the progress she has shown on the court over the past twelve months. Evans, a 5’8 CG, is coming into her own. She has always competed with a high motor and great attitude but now the skill side of things are starting to show through the surface. Offensively, she has shown that she can do anything asked of her. She can run your PG spot within your offensive system but she really thrives off the ball at the 2 or 3. She doesn’t need a lot of time or dribbles to produce and she can produce from every level, in any way you’d like. Defensively, an absolute dawg. First on the floor for a loose ball and willing to defend all positions. Even a Center in the post with her physicality if need be. I’m not sure when it’ll happen but Evans is a D2 talent and those offers are sure to come sooner rather than later. Especially with the type of game-film she has been posting on Social Media.

received her first official offer from D3 – Cornell College. This is the first offer but it won’t be the last for Evans. This is a guard with skill, smarts, physicality, athletic ability, and understanding of how to be a leader for the others around her. She has a shifty crossover move from right to left and she loves getting all the way to the hoop for AND1 opportunities. She can also defend at a high rate and cause a lot of chaos defensively with her tendency to get her hands on the ball. Prior to AAU season starting, Evans did visit a D2 program and she has had others reach out in the mean time with interest so it’ll be exciting to see where this leads her as she moves into the Summer months.
