Saturday Hoopers at Battle in the Big Friendly

Knocked down 3-point shooter that if she has her feet set it was good. A player that on basket cuts would stop on the block to post up and finish with a post move. The utility came as most of the game I watched she played the point guard spot as well. The type of player it seemed liked just played where what was best for the team. Got me doing some research and looks as if she has a strong freshman season last year. Handled the ball in the open floor like a 2/3 guard with control and vision. Attacked off the wing in the half court getting to the paint to collapse the defense. Showed the outside range as well as mid-range jumper. The small forward aspects come in when she slashes to the bucket on the backside and her calmness in the paint finishing with solid moves. Excellent rebounder on both ends of the floor. Played 1-4 spots on the floor made a tough match for the opposing teams who played man defense. Played PG against the press with comfort. Looking to shoot the gaps with the dribble or pass over the top using height to see down the floor. An aggressive downhill driver that used a very nice slide step to avoid the charge. Knocked down couple from deep just to keep the defense honest. A deadly 3-point shooter that you must find when crossing halft court. At times she was the point guard that seemed very comfortable running the team. The height she has allows her to play the 3/4 guards if your offense runs a 4 out set. Defense at times was her best offense int he senses the more intense the defensive play got the more effective she was in scoring. Excellent transition offensive player that made good decisions on to finish to kick the pass to open player. High level scorer that attacked the gaps in the spread offense. Showed mid-range pull up jumper off the drives also. Strong defender that gave up little ground on the ball pressure. The release and from looked good as she knocked down the outside shot. A gritty type of guard on offense that did not mind dropping the shoulders and getting to the rim on drives. So, on Saturday I made it a point to stop by and watch her team play. She did not disappoint as she dropped in 19 points to go along with other stats. Show great range on the 3-pointer and got to the rim with the finish when ran off the line. Good defender that created turnover with a steal or deflection. Played tough yet still had a team effort attitude with good body language.
