It was a bit of an up and down game for Murray. A tough “And 1 “in the second quarter finally got her and the team going. As she often does, she played with her hair on fire on both ends of the court. Recorded blocks, steals, and applied ball pressure on defense. Then was tempo pushing, using ball fakes, good handles and more to get to the rim on offense. An area of improvement that was noticeable is her need to better value the ball. Had a few turnovers throughout the game. Continuing to tighten up handle will help eliminate some. But there were also some mistakes as a passers. They’re all fixable areas of improvement. Given the passion Murray plays with, she should only continue to clean up weaknesses and keep improving.

What’s a better 6th woman for a team than a gritty guard who does whatever is needed for her team? Murray is a battler on defense and an energy giver on offense. Fought through waves of pressure in a Saturday afternoon match up. Showcasing good handles, then the strength, balance and toughness to finish at the rim. Generally took good care of the ball, making the right reads when she drew doubles. One instance stood out when she saw a trap approaching and she whipped an one handed pass with accuracy and velocity from near half-court to a teammate by the rim. Another super sophomore in the big time Class of 2028 in Oklahoma.

When you watch Graycie play you are going to see a tough guard that gets the job done. Great outside shooter that moves off the ball finding the gaps to knock down the 3-pointer. The toughest shot is on the ball screen. You can go under the ball screen, not this shooter as she can knock down the over the on top of the screen. Good footwork on the drives giving her the ability to adjust around the help defense avoiding the block or drives.
As much as I can go on about her offense it is the defense side that comes to mind when I say tough. Always around the ball creating a turnover off deflection or steal. I am not sure if I have ever seen a guard box out in the paint like she does. Low and strong legs move out a much larger player. A 2028 name to remember as she will be a big part of the Lady Pioneers offense this season.

A shooter that gets her legs under her shot and hard pop of the wrist to shoot with great distance. Add a great follow through that resulted in a lot of all net makes that never toughed the rim. All you heard was the swish of the net. Got hot in several spots rolling off 5 in a row. The same shooting mechanics were used in open play with an added 1-2 footwork into the shot. A guard that got out in transition spotted up on the wing in 5/5 games.

All Murray does when watched by the PGH team is impress. She’s a do it all guard, with good size and athleticism. Often makes the right reads as a passer, while also finding her spots to score. Her ability to thrive on or off the ball will surely benefit her at the next level. The scoring punch she’s provided for Unity has been particular impressive for her long term potential. Which, she comes from a basketball family with a mother who was a standout at Oklahoma State.

If in need of a tall combo guard that can hoop and gives 100% between the lines, then check out Graycie. A shooter that gets out quick to fill the wings on breaks looking for that transition 3. Great understanding how to move without the ball for the kick out 3. Handled the point position at times with poise and control using her physicalness to handle any ball pressure. A2028 that stock increased over the weekend in my opinion.

If I would have described Graycie after this weekend it would have to be that she is a complete guard. A deadly 3-point shooter that you must find when crossing halft court. At times she was the point guard that seemed very comfortable running the team. The height she has allows her to play the 3/4 guards if your offense runs a 4 out set. A very high IQ player that completes at a high level.

Murray received a valuable year of reps at the 6A level with Stillwater. She caught the eye at the Joe Lawson Tournament, for her good poise and all around game. Especially since it was only a few weeks into her high school career. Players can develop rapidly at this age, so it will be good to see the growth she’s made in recent months. With the poise and lead guard skills she’s shown in previous viewings, Murray could be a key part of keeping the talented Unity 15U roster rolling like a well oiled machine.

Taller lead guard, who competed on both ends of the court. Often made the simple but important passes by pitching it ahead in transition and on good passes while driving. Helped out on the glass and has a nose for loose balls, leading to transition scores. Good all around game and very promising first viewing of a new name to monitor in Oklahoma’s talented freshman class.

Balanced prospect that often made the right play, including pushing it and making the correct, unselfish pass. Showed promise with finishing during 5 on 5, including a tough one through contact for an “And 1”. Looks to be a well rounded guard, who can star in a role early at the high school level, while continuing to develop.
