We had a lot of hype around Sievers moving into last Winter and she did a good job of holding her own. She started off the season somewhat slow but she consistently got better and better as we got closer to the Holiday season. Sievers is going to be the star prospect out of Play4Him Academy ‘s program for the foreseeable future. She is someone that embodies what it means to be a PG. She leads by example, she is shifty as hell with the ball in her hands, she changes angles at an elite rate, and she has situational awareness to the 10th degree. It’ll be fun to see what she can do these next couple of months. I’m sure she is going to have some star-studded showings when we look back at things at the end of July.

- 17.5 PPG, 5.5 RPG
Quinn Sievers Quinn Sievers 5'5" | PG/SG Newell-Fonda | 2029 State IA is the other Sievers you are going to hear a lot about over the next three seasons within Iowa high school hoops. Sievers is a short and crafty PG with natural ability. Offensively, she has great fast twitch reactions while making her first move off of the bounce and she knows how to score the ball at every level. Defensively, she sticks to her matchup and gives them hell with active hands and quick feet. This week we saw Sievers leading the pack with her creating, scoring, and rebounding ability. I think it’s important to note that this is usually the smallest player on the floor but she is ALWAYS a leader in RPG, which speaks to her Willingness to mix it up in the middle. Newell-Fonda is going to be fun to watch for years to come because of the Sievers. They took over the 1A scene this season and this was only the beginning.

It was an easy choice to select Quinn Sievers Quinn Sievers 5'5" | PG/SG Newell-Fonda | 2029 State IA as my X-Factor from tonight’s game. The freshman point guard came in off the bench and immediately brought a jolt of electricity with her. With lightning-quick speed and impressive handles, Quinn brought flare and form to her Mustangs squad when they needed it. She looked to distribute early by drawing defenders in the lane and her unselfish passing led to a number of open finishes for Newell-Fonda’s bigs. Finishing with a game high 7 assists, the freshman also showed a high-level scoring skillset. Included in these skills were a feathery-touch floater, and two of my favorite plays from the game — a between the legs + hesitation + crossover for an open layup, and a nothing-but-net half court heave to finish the third quarter. In short, this Sievers sister knows how to make momentum-building plays — her efforts tonight were definitely a difference-maker.

There is a lot of hype around Quinn Sievers Quinn Sievers 5'5" | PG/SG Newell-Fonda | 2029 State IA coming into the season. Sievers is another that very talented for her age level. She has a deep skill set as an offensive threat, always having the chance to kill you in the blink of an eye. We saw glimpses of some really nice things out of Sievers in this one. She hit a skilled two foot floater while attacking off the bounce, she hit a deep three from about the volleyball line, she got into the teeth of the defense for simple assists on multiple occasions, and she recorded several steals on defense. It’s early on but Sievers is going to kill the 1A Class over the next 3.5 years. She needs to get a little stronger but other than that, she is in a really good place at this moment.

The hooper that is going to be highly considered at the #2 spot for this Class will be Quinn Sievers Quinn Sievers 5'5" | PG/SG Newell-Fonda | 2029 State IA of Newell-Fonda High School. Sievers is highly skilled as a playmaker with the rock in her possession. She can kill her defender off the dribble, taking it 1 on 5 through an entire defense for an easy assist or look at the bucket, or she can back it out and shoot a fundamental three-ball off of the catch. Defensively, she is ferocious getting her hands on deflections and causing chaos in the open floor. As an entire prospect, Sievers already checks off a lot of boxes that the collegiate level looks for. If she can steadily progress as she continues to get older, she is going to have a boatload of offers prior to her commitment.

One of the most natural players that this Class has to offer is Quinn Sievers Quinn Sievers 5'5" | PG/SG Newell-Fonda | 2029 State IA . Sievers competes with Play4Him Academy 2029 and she will attend Newell-Fonda High School for the next four years. When you watch her compete, it’s nothing short of amazing. There are certain players out there that just have an act for being in the right place at the right time and for always making the right play. That’s Sievers. Not only that, she is extremely crafty for her position in whatever she is choosing to accomplish. When we break down the conversation about who is going to be the #1 prospect out of this 2029 Class, Quinn Sievers of Newell Fonda and Pray4Him Academy will be included in those talks. I’m planning on seeing Sievers take the Varsity floor right away and being in the talks for the best 1A prospect in the state almost immediately. That just gives you a glimpse of what her skill level is with the ball in her possession. This is someone that is highly talented and she should take the state of Iowa by storm before you know it. Her skill-set is second-to-none for her age level and I can’t wait to see how that evolves over time.
