Vinita Team Camp: Notes Part 1

As a coach of a team attending and scout for PGH I would like to thank Coach Wylie and his staff on a great camp. She joins alongside with other Northeastern Oklahoma State commit Ali Schwerdtfefer A solid inside game on the low block with smooth outside shooting makes Hannah a tough match up in any class. Good hands and soft touch on the glass allows her to shoot at a very high percentage. Excellent rebounder that can get those extra points with offensive putbacks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Physical defender that holds down the paint by either blocking the shot or changing the shot. Quick enough to defend a small post on the outside but strong enough to bang inside giving up not ground</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The addition of Hannah gives Adair something they have not had in awhile and that is a physical presence inside. Warm ups looked smooth and impressive yet sometimes it never transfers to the game. Not this young lady she is a tough player to keep in front of when defending. Shawnee may be one of the best guards I have seen this summer creating space for the jump shot. It is just enough bump and fake to get the defender going backwards to get the shot off. Good pocket dribble and change of speed kept the defender guessing on it it is a shot or drive.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On defense she has quick hands and moves lateral coving a lot of space. She scored on several fastbreak layups by jumping the passing lanes for the steal.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>2028 that has great size and good basketball instinct It was first time seeing Shawnee play and I can honestly say she needs to be ranked somewhere. It did not matter if it was off the down screen catch or dribbling off the ball screen all she needs was just enough space to get her feet squared up. Moves great without the ball relocating to the open spaces looking for the kick outs. I would list her as a combo guard because she hands the ball like a point guard when setting up the plays.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Impressive is how fast she pushes the ball up the court on makes. There were times that before the defense got back on makes, she was already blowing by them scoring a layup</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Quick guard on defense that covered lot of space when play in a zone. What adds to the combo guard is her outside shooting ability. First let's discuss the point guard qualities. Great ball handling that pushes the tempo in transition with eyes up the court. Dropped several smooth assists in transition this week. Above level vision in half-court offense seeing and delivering on the back door cuts for layups. A shooting guard that has deep range and is a must find on the floor especially in transition as she hustles down the court spotting up for the pass up the floor.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On defense a scrappy guard that will get in the mix among the trees to get that rebound. Hustled after every loose ball winning those 50/50 balls. Flies around on defense in the full court and half court pressure always looking for the steal. Finally entering her senior season, it seems like Kelby has been on the scene for a minute. It may just be that she has been to the State Tournament the past 3 years as a starter. A shooting guard that can shoot off both the down or ball screen. Handles the ball like a point guard with poise getting teammates where they need to be.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>You can tell that Kelby is that type of player who is the extension of the coach on the floor. Always circling up the group getting them ready to go on the next play. The skill work she has been putting in has transformed her from a power forward the past to season to playing a big guard this week. Aggressive physical driver off the wing was very effective in Glenpool offense. Finished the drive off with a spin move back to the rim or nice jump hook going off two feet in front of the rim. Excellent jumper with great height that grabbed any and all rebounds near her, I am guessing comes from her volleyball back ground. Sometimes the best offense was to shoot the ball and let her go get the putback. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A highly ranked athletic 2026 that is fun to watch as she plays with just that smoothness about her game. Good outside shooting allows her to play the 3 guard. Hands the ball good for a 3-5 man that uses her height to see over the press. Runs the floor well filling the lanes for up the court pass on fastbreaks. Showed off some footwork this week with a nice up and under move.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">On defense plays like a small forward jumping the passing lanes for deflections and steals.
