There'll be much to talk about from over the weekend, but first, Prep Girls Hoops New England sends sincere thoughts and prayers to anyone who had to endure the mayhem from the unfortunate events at the Run For Roses event. Most importantly everyone seems to be safe, but the events can have a traumatic impact. There were a bunch of fellow New Englanders in the building, but with the welfare of everybody assured at the end of the day, it was a must to at least make a statement.

Moving on to more positive things; the hoops were absolutely electric this weekend. Without question the proverbial knob has been turned up. These girls have cranked it up a notch here in July and it's made for some great content. The region's girls made statements cross-country this weekend and below are 8 impressive performers.

Scott had herself a weekend. The '28 highly touted pg is becoming a regular feature in posts for her stately play recently. Aaralyn is such a presence initiating the offense, self-creating plus she's such a stable defender. This weekend she put up a 30-point game, showing why she's a top 5 ranked player in the class as she dominated the competition out of town. The way she was able to finish plays was topnotch.

Abelard is the consummate 2-way gamechanger that's extremely portable plus she complements many different playstyles due to her versatility. On display this weekend was her blazing speed, ability to be switchable on both sides of the ball and a soft touch with the ball in her hands. Anjolie has been showing she's an even stronger attacker then earlier anticipated. It's clear her game is evolving and she's growing in confidence with more time with her talented MCW Starz squad. Abelard is an all-around threat with a bright future.

Wright is one of the smoother players in the class. She's a bucket-getter whose self-creation can open up things for teammates and easily overpower defenses when hot. Wright can serve as an off-ball threat too due to her shooting capabilities. This isn't a player that settles either, Wright competes at the highest level. She's determined to get her game going despite the tough defenders sent her way constantly. Those graceful shooting mechanics are a work of art though, it's what separated her early on from a lot of her peers. Every shot looks like it's a quality one and she can be relied upon when her number in called. Madison is liable to hit no matter what the coverage is. It's beautiful to watch Madison go to work, getting to her spots and knocking down delightful looking jumpers.

What's not to like about Elyse's game? She can fill it up with the best of them from 3 levels plus she's quite the active defender. The shot making ability and primary creation shown from Ngenda can be counted upon as the offense progresses or she can make plays happen in isolation possessions. There was standout traits demonstrated in some games that can be quickly glossed over, but they absolutely put into context what type of elite player she is. Ngenda's effort getting after the ball in hustle plays and getting her teammates involved was what stood out. Elyse's national ranking is certainly justified behind her dynamic upper-class game.

Agar was also pretty aggressive on the boards, deterring shots in the paint and she was able to accurately pass the ball around the court.
