[player_tooltip player_id='654776' first='Lauren' last='Carlsen'] is a competitor. Doesn't matter what sport you are talking about. If Carlsen is out competing, she wants to win and that's how it should be. Carlsen is grabbing interest from a few programs around the Midwest at this time. The latest being Bethel College out of Newton, Kansas. Carlsen spots up at that 3 or 4 position mainly. She isn't someone to move to the Center spot and she isn't a true PG or SG, everything else though - she is solid. She is someone that isn't going to hurt you as a coach, while giving you all she's got in the end. She is someone that is willing to do the dirty work without taking credit for it. That's a teammate everyone wants to play with and everyone wants to play for so wherever she goes, I'm sure she is going to love how it all plays it.

The Simpson family got a little bit bigger when [player_tooltip player_id='592199' first='Aubrey' last='Kelly'] of Benton Community committed last week. Kelly is a PF at 5'10 that moves pretty well. She is someone at the Varsity level the really thrives in the middle but it'll be interesting to see how she builds on that over her next 4-5 years. Kelly is already pretty knowledgable about how things work in the lane. She knows how to control stuff when she has time and space next the basket offensively, while being a sound defender in-between the blocks. On the college floor Kelly will most likely be a 3/4 but only time will tell.

The [program_tooltip program_id='712711' first='Nebraska' last='Lasers'] have been a team to follow this Spring/Summer AAU Season. Nebraska doesn't have a ton of AAU team across the state. There are some in Omaha, Lincoln, and then out West but basically that is it. The [program_tooltip program_id='712711' first='Nebraska' last='Lasers'] have shown they have a lot of talent on their rosters. Someone from the 2026 Class being [player_tooltip player_id='759026' first='Charlee' last='Richter'] of Doniphan-Trumbull High School. Richter is a Forward at 5'10 because of her usual competition level. She is someone with her size that can use her strength to bully her way through situations and if not, she can counter and adapt a majority of the time. Richter just grabbed an offer to compete at Doane following her Senior year. A great option for someone that wants to play in a system with a staff that knows what they are talking about.

The #5 rated prospect out of the 2026 Class in Nebraska is off the board. [player_tooltip player_id='758887' first='Clara' last='Welker'] of Millard North High School committed to Cedarville last week, a D2 program that is really trying to make a push of recruiting players out of the Midwest as of late. Welker has been a big producer in scoring and rebounding over her high school career. This is someone with some impressive athletic ability at 6'0, she knows where the ball is going to come off the rim at all times on a missed shot attempt, and she is willing to mix it up with anyone down-low physical. Over-time her jumper has also shown a ton of improvement, making it an important facet of her game. All of this stuff combined makes for a hooper to know and that's what we have here.

It's been a nice final AAU season for [player_tooltip player_id='881948' first='Graysyn' last='Downing']. She is playing good ball on the road, she is taking visits and receiving offers from the next level, and she is progressing her game in her off-time. All things you love to see. Downing is going to have a few options as to where she wants to play following this Winter. She has a solid skill-set for her position and that is only going to grow with time/experience. She has 3-4 offers right now and she might grab a few more before she commits, depending when that choice is coming down the pipeline!
