has been a consistent stock-riser over her high school career. Now as a Senior, Carlsen is a solid recruit on the hardwood because she is reliable. You know exactly what you are going to get out of her. Offensively, she is someone that can dominate her matchup with her mixture of size and athletic ability. She can finish over anyone that maybe smaller near the bucket and she has slowly started to expand her game out to the perimeter more often. Defensively, she can wall up for stops with her body under the basket or she can switch and stick onto someone smaller. Overall, there is a lot to like about Carlsen. She is someone a coach can trust in big moments and that goes a long way.

of Marion High School. Carlsen does whatever is asked of her. It’s usually to patrol the middle of the lane and near the blocks but not always. She is also versatile enough to work from 15FT and in as well. She can do either, it’s really whatever is needed from her in that moment. I’m thinking that we will see a commitment out of Carlsen sooner than later. She was just offered by NAIA- Briar Cliff out of Iowa. Now it’s time to narrow down her options and to really think of the future possibilities.

is a competitor. Doesn’t matter what sport you are talking about. If Carlsen is out competing, she wants to win and that’s how it should be. Carlsen is grabbing interest from a few programs around the Midwest at this time. The latest being Bethel College out of Newton, Kansas. Carlsen spots up at that 3 or 4 position mainly. She isn’t someone to move to the Center spot and she isn’t a true PG or SG, everything else though – she is solid. She is someone that isn’t going to hurt you as a coach, while giving you all she’s got in the end. She is someone that is willing to do the dirty work without taking credit for it. That’s a teammate everyone wants to play with and everyone wants to play for so wherever she goes, I’m sure she is going to love how it all plays it.

compete on an average basis, you can tell that she works hard to produce. Carlsen is someone at 5’10 that is willing to let it all go from all three offensive levels and she understands what to do when. She can catch and let it go from deep, she can dribble and hit a midrange floater, or she can get to the hoop for a post look against someone weaker in the post. Defensively, she can sit down low and wall up against someone her size or she can pop out and contest on the outside at a decent rate. I’m not sure which Attack team Carlsen will be on but whichever it is, she is sure to give it her all and let it fly over these next six months.
