The Tennessee Expo was lit! Those who flocked to the event to compete were allowed to showcase their skills against other talented girls across the state. An event like this truly allowed others to measure themselves and see where they matched up with others in our area. As a scout, what I love about this event is the opportunity to see kids out of their comfort zone. How do they move? How do they adapt? How quickly can they mesh with other players that they may not know? Then add the whole local to the equation, and the different styles of ball come into the fold as well.

When it comes to this event, I love the format of playing 3v3 and then going to 5v5. It allows someone to see how their game can translate from open space to a more confined area. There is a learning curve. For example, take someone who can work out in a 3v3 setting. Are they getting those same looks with two additional girls on the floor? Are people more aggressive or tend to flow in an area? These are just a few questions I ask myself when looking at the talent.

Either way you slice it, we have some girls who can work out and will do so, especially this upcoming season. Here are a few girls from the event who are poised for success.

A confident kid who is a silent killer. Once the ball starts to go in, it is hard to slow her down. She can work out, unleashing a nice bag of ball-handling moves that enable her to get into her shooting motion quickly or attack downhill. She competes and is someone who will give you buckets. I like her ability to assess the defense and then find a way to exploit it. Look for her to help the Lady Bulldogs of Hickman County reach new heights and play a big part throughout their journey.

A confident ballplayer who is about to help the Lady Raptors ball club compete in a district that is up for grabs. She can shoot the ball from deep at a consistent clip, but it's the other things that also grasp your attention. Her attention to detail on D, her ability to contribute in different areas such as rebounding, being in helpside, and getting steals or deflections. Offensively, she will give you buckets, especially if given any daylight. She is a heady ballplayer, and it was good to see how she stacks up against others not only in her class, but also in others as well. Look for her to come out of the gates strong and find her niche as she looks to help the RHS ballclub.

Those who will be able to witness her style of play will be impressed with her ability to elevate herself in the air. This young lady plays basketball in a way most kids don't. Blessed with speed and the ability to jump, she has a quick first step that enables her to get into her jumper in the mid-range area. I am trying not to say she is him, but she does have a Kobe feel to her game, which most don't have. I love her defense, tenacity, and her ability to just get things done. Rebounds, steals - this kid is a hustler and someone who will turn heads as she terrorizes courts this upcoming season.

If I had to compare this young lady's game, it kind of reminds me of Rickea Jackson of the LA Sparks. She contributes to multiple phases of the game. Defensively, she is sound, contributes on the boards, and gets her hands on balls that result in steals or deflections. Offensively, her mid-range game is tight, she can get to the rim, and clean up missed shot opportunities. Plays with relentless energy and effort. She will be the leading catalyst for the Lady Burros for this upcoming season.

This kid is about to hit a turning point, transitioning from prospect to someone who has helped put their school on the map. Blessed with size and length, she competes with high energy on both ends of the floor. Defensively, she was physical, grabbed boards, and ran the floor well in transition to establish herself in the paint. Offensively, she was great with her back to the basket, as well as facing up and going to work. I loved her demeanor on the floor as she competed until time was up. This kid is going to help Kirkwood take the next step. Look for her also to be a name not only in the Clarksville area, but one that you will hear over the next few years.
