Savannah Henderson – Timber Creek
She is a top 5 player in this Florida 2022 class, in my opinion. Savannah stands at 6’1 and can score from anywhere with a terrific shot and handles to match. She’s the leading scorer on her team with 17.9 ppg and a top rebounder with 6 rpg. Savannah plays tough defense and can really do it all with a couple more years to progress her already refined game. I can’t imagine she will play anywhere other than for her mother at UCF, but she’s going to continue getting a ton of interest from big schools.
Nyla Harris – Lake Highland Prep
Nyla has massive potential as the number 13 ranked player in ESPN 2022 HoopGurlz Terrific 25 as well as a number 2 ranking in our Florida 2022 class rankings. She has a ton of Power 5 offers as one of the best true posts in the state on a talented squad. Her defensive presence inside causes issues for opposing teams, and she is a smooth post who finishes strong around the hoop with some fancy footwork. Nyla will have her pick of the litter when it comes to playing at the next level.
Sierra Godbolt – Lake Highland Prep
LHP has one of the best Sophomore classes in the state along with Miami Country Day and Tampa Bay Tech. Sierra does a fantastic job of taking care of the rock and dishing it out to her loaded team. She’s played well in big games and should not be overlooked on this Highlanders team. In the game I saw against Miami Country Day, she was a huge part of the dominant win early in the season with her defensive pressure.
Stefanie Ingram – Lake Highland Prep
Stefanie is another strong Sophomore and guard for Lake Highland Prep. As a guard, she rebounds very well and plays some of the best defense I’ve seen. Her court vision is tremendous and she can score with the best of them when her team needs a clutch bucket.
Sydney Shaw – Miami Country Day
She can flat out take over a game as a top guard in this class. Sydney is quick and has a pretty jumper that leads to plenty of points on this battle-tested team. She’s going to receive plenty of attention from major schools in her high school career as a well-rounded player who does everything well.
Emani Theodule – Miami Country Day
Emani is a top athlete in this class who can compete with anyone. She jumps out of the gym, runs the court well, and scores at will. She’s part of an elite Sophomore class at MCDS. Emani is fun to watch as she is active on both ends of the floor.
Janiah Barker – Tampa Bay Tech
Janiah is ranked as the number 2 player in the ESPN 2022 HoopGurlz Terrific 25 and number 1 in our Florida 2022 class rankings. This name is no surprise to anyone as she has competed at a high level as a representative of our country and her name is all over. Janiah has tremendous length and a very good stroke at her size. She leads her nationally-ranked team in points, rebounds, and blocks this season. It feels like she’s been around for a while, and she still have two years left.
Amiya Evans – Tampa Bay Tech
Amiya might not draw as much national recognition as Janiah, but she holds her own. She’s a strong, physical player who will bully anyone in the post just like her father did. She is second in rebounding and shot blocking for TBT this year. I was also very impressed with her post moves, offensive rebounding, and ability to finish around the hoop with either hand.
Addison is on one of the weaker teams on this list (they are improving), so she gets to see double teams and face guarding a lot more than anyone else mentioned in this class. She’s got a terrific frame and a very pretty stroke from a high release point. Addison has to do a lot for her team, but she has stepped up by rebounding strong and working on her ball handling as a player who mixes it up with a little bit of everything. She’s the leader on her team in points (14.5), rebounds (9.1), steals, and is second in assists just behind Catie Reszel.
Milahnie Perry – Carrollwood Day
CDS has a strong cast of upperclassmen, but they also have one of the best Sophomores in the Tampa Bay Area. Milahnie gets good elevation on her jump shot, and she uses that elevation with her shots from anywhere behind the arc and in. She’s a strong finisher at the rim who drives the ball hard but also under control to get a bucket or get to the foul line.
