[player_tooltip player_id='582813' first='Ellie' last='Muller'] will return this Winter as one of the best Forwards in the state, if not thee best Forward in the state at this point. The Mizzou WBB commit is ready to put together another impressive season coming off of her last AAU campaign. Muller is a difference maker on both ends with her size and aggressive demeanor. She is a problem to deal with for opponents that like to attack the paint and she is tough to stop while scoring consistently over some opponents that are most likely smaller in size. If you told me that Muller went on to have the best career at the next level, I would not disagree. She is really good as it is and she is only going to get better the more she competes.

One of the keys for Waukee NW to win a 5A State Title this season is their Forward play. They need to dominate down-low in every imaginable way. Which is doable with who they have on roster moving into regular season play. Danburg demonstrated as a Sophomore that she is the real deal at 6'2. She can do her thing and kill her matchup with her size or she can even handle it a little bit to attack off the dribble if the situation calls for it. Taking into consideration her age, skill level, and what she has shown in the past and it's easy to see that Danburg is being under-recruited right now. I'm hoping Waukee NW can win it all this season and she can have a big hand in that. If that's the case, then I'm sure the offers will start to flood in from all over the Country but we will have to wait and see.

The running partner with Danburg at the Forward position for the Wolves is [player_tooltip player_id='880911' first='Victoria' last='Burpo']. Burpo is a little smaller in height than Cassidy but she possess more muscle mass to pair along with her size. Offensively, she is a force to be reckoned with whenever she catches with time and space near the basket because of how simple it is for her to bully smaller opponents that try to matchup with her. She will simply go through anyone that is smaller/weaker, while being able to hit a counter move if she is ever cut off by someone that might be a little bit bigger. Defensively, she is a rebounding machine and someone that protects the middle of the lane well. All and all, this is someone with a D1 offer already at this time and she might field a few more before her high school career is over. If she does her thing and everyone else follows suit, who knows how far the Wolves could take things over the next couple of seasons.

It should be a very intriguing season for [player_tooltip player_id='913222' first='Julia' last='Van Keuren'] and Waukee High School. They lose their main guard producer from year's past so there should be some opportunities for others to step up to make some noise. Someone who is sure to do her thing in the paint is Van Keuren. This is a player that should average a double-double this Winter is PPG-RPG. She will get all of their main action under the hoop and I'm excited to see how she responds to that. If she can become the beast we think she could be, she will love the results. She just has to stay confident and do her thing!

*There is an asterisks to start this because to my understanding [player_tooltip player_id='863281' first='Hallie' last='Vander Weerdt'] might be out for the entire 2025-2026 season but there should be some hope that she might be able to come back during the Playoffs if the Rams can take things to the State Tournament. Vander Weerdt has natural size at 6'1, lengthy arms to pair along with it and she has steadily grown in her game over the last few years up to this point. She is fairly disciplined under neath the hoop on both sides of the ball and I think she is only going to continue to get better once she is back from injury. If Vander Weerdt were completely healthy at this point she would be a top five producer from the Forward position out of the CIML and that speaks volumes within one of the best conferences in the Country.
