I’m not sure how recent it is but Victoria Burpo Victoria Burpo 6'0" | PF Waukee NW | 2028 State IA of Waukee NW High School solidified one of her first D1 offers with Illinois State throwing their name into the hat for Burpo’s commitment. Burpo is known as a strong and coordinated PF. She can finish near the bucket through contact all contest long and she is someone that others need to note defensively. If they don’t, she is going to be right there it block or alter whatever offensive attempt is going up. Illinois State is known for taking strong PF/Center’s out of the Midwest. It works with how they play the game and they are looking to lock in another with the commitment of Burpo down the line.

Burpo comes into this Update as a Top 20 rated prospect out of this Class because of her combination of height, physicality, and relentlessness in her pursuit of the basketball near the hoop. She currently still sits with a D1 offer and interest from all over the Midwest at a few different division levels at this point with how well she can control in-between the blocks. Her back to the basket work is impressive whenever she has a 1v1 matchup on offense, always being able to finish in one way or another around the opponent and her defense is noteworthy to say the least. Waukee NW is going to be favored to win the 5A Class State Title to begin this Winter and a big reason for that prediction will be because they will be able to control the boards with Burpo and Company. If they build off of what they have set in place the last two seasons, they are going to love how things end up by the time that the 2026-2026 high school season comes to a close.

The Example program just got stronger at the center position, and Burpo is a big reason why. She has both the strength and stature to be a dominant presence on the defensive end, while also serving as a strong piece alongside a team with high level guards. In one of the matchups I watched against 24:UP , she had a couple of possessions where she caught the ball at the top and attcked. There’s still an adjustment period as she gets more comfortable within the program, but the flashes are there, and you can see the level she has the potential to help this team reach.

Burpo comes in right around 6’0 and she handlers her own in the middle. She is a PF that takes up a lot of space with her post ability. If she gets her back to the basket with time and spacing, it’s usually an easy bucket because the opponent can’t handle the physicality. Defensively, Burpo alters a lot of shots with her presence alone. Guards that break past NW’s first line of defense are in for a rude awakening when they see Burpo in between the blocks. Overall, there is some promise here. She competes at a solid rate so as long as she works on being her best at her Forward position, she should continue to see results.

Burpo is a little smaller in height than Cassidy but she possess more muscle mass to pair along with her size. Offensively, she is a force to be reckoned with whenever she catches with time and space near the basket because of how simple it is for her to bully smaller opponents that try to matchup with her. She will simply go through anyone that is smaller/weaker, while being able to hit a counter move if she is ever cut off by someone that might be a little bit bigger. Defensively, she is a rebounding machine and someone that protects the middle of the lane well. All and all, this is someone with a D1 offer already at this time and she might field a few more before her high school career is over. If she does her thing and everyone else follows suit, who knows how far the Wolves could take things over the next couple of seasons.

Waukee NW is poised to put together a rememberable season at the Varsity level. Burpo, a 6’0 PF, just received her first D1 offer from down South this past AAU season and she is ready to build on that momentum. Burpo is a handful with a lot of power to back up her skill-set. She is very good at bullying individuals that might be smaller than her next to the basket. If she happens to miss an offensive attempt, her mixture of size and skill is good enough to get her own rebound and put it back up for a simple conversation. This happens on a lot of missed shots in general. Burpo is thorough at cleaning up the boards on both ends and I’m sure we will continue to see that more and more moving into her Sophomore season with the Wolves.

Burpo, a 6’0 PF, has the height and muscle mass to pair with it that all collegiate coaches love to see. She can bully her way to several buckets and rebounds in a short period of time if the opponent doesn’t game-plan for her. She can also step out, screen, and roll for a look going towards the hoop from the outside. Burpo should be a nice piece to her team’s puzzle, if you will, for this upcoming Winter with Waukee NW. They are going to have two starters over 6’0 and that will play to their favor against in the long run if they want to de-thrown the reigning 5A Champs.

There are a lot of questions and some uncertainty to Victoria Burpo Victoria Burpo 6'0" | PF Waukee NW | 2028 State IA as a prospect. In the terms of, I’m not sure if she is going to sink or swim right away when she hits the Varsity floor. If she works on the correct things and plays her natural position, I don’t think there are too many players in the state that can match her natural size and physicality in the paint. Burpo is someone that understands how to eat up space by the rim, how to play off of others, and she knows what she does best. As long as the coaching staff can get her prepared and put in the situations that best suit her, then we are talking about someone that could make some major waves these next four years. She has been a force over the last year on the AAU scene. Now it just needs to translate to high school ball.

The biggest deciding factor that I think Victoria Burpo Victoria Burpo 6'0" | PF Waukee NW | 2028 State IA is going to run into at the high school level is playing her position. If Burpo locks in to dominate with her size within 15FT of the hoop and works off of that, she could end up being one of the best Post players out of the 2028 Class before her high school career comes to a close. Her size, physicality, awareness, and willingness to get down the floor or pass out to an open shooter demonstrates how good she could really be. If she has the correct guidance, is used in the proper ways, all while expanding what she is good at, then she is going to put together four memorable seasons with Waukee NW.

One of the more interesting prospects out of this 2028 Class comes to us in the form of Forward, Victoria Burpo Victoria Burpo 6'0" | PF Waukee NW | 2028 State IA . Burpo will be attending Waukee NW High School for her next four years and I’m sure she is going to be a staple of that program once she gets her feet underneath herself at the Varsity level. She has solid height at 6’0, she is a physical body near the paint, and she is relentless in her pursuit of the basketball on shot attempts and in rebounding situations. I had a chance to see Burpo compete prior to this AAU season and she was really unstoppable against other prospects her age in the paint area. If she can build off of this physical play, while being a sound defender, she is going to find time on the floor with the Wolves in the near future at the very least.
