Eastern Kansas League (EKL)
Bishop Miege, Blue Valley, Blue Valley North, Blue Valley Northwest, Blue Valley Southwest, Blue Valley West, Mill Valley, St. James, St. Thomas Aquinas.
Allie Burns, 5’7, G, 2020, Bishop Miege
Another defensive standout who has the right place at the right time gene. Burns keep your eye on the ball and is good at boxing out opponents and playing big for her size around the paint. She looks so apply contact and heavy pressure on the perimeter. She can also make some plays on offense and can score when she’s open and is feeling confident or when she has an open lane.
Lauren Cassady, 5’10, F, 2020, Blue Valley North
She’s mobile and can handle the block and perimeter as a defender. She’s an athletic forward at 5’10 who has good quickness and strength for her frame. She isn’t always going to light up the boards as a scorer but she can score in transition and she looks to rebound on defense and the offensive glass and can force turnovers or simply rip the ball away from her opponents. A strong forward with good size for North.
Emily Farthing, 5’8, G, 2020, Blue Valley Northwest
A point guard for Northwest who brings leadership qualities and ball handling skills to the floor. She has good size and is a speedy player with the ball in her hands. She looks to distribute the ball and works well with teammate Megan Edwards. Farthing is good at avoiding traps and can zip up the floor with an opponent on her tail. She is an aggressive defender who looks to stay close and play the ball.
Lexy Farrington, 5’11, F, 2020, Blue Valley North
A standout soccer player and Kansas commit for Blue Valley North who is a well conditioned player who adds length, toughness and two-way play to the floor. Farrington runs the floor well and looks to get back on defense and get out in transition and this comes while making extra passes or sacrificing herself to get to the glass as a rebounder or scorer.
Neva Longhofer, 5’10, G/F, 2020, Blue Valley West
A combo player for West who can dominate as a three-point shooter and showcase her defensive awareness on the opposite side of the floor. She has a great work ethic and he’s active and keeps your hands up and in the face of opponents. She can block shots and can test them when she’s in position and the time she finds herself out of position.
