LBI Mitten Opening--2026 Standouts Pt 2

Several of Michigan's best teams and prospects flooded Belleville High School for the LBI Mitten Opening on Wednesday, November 26th. Here are some of the top 2026 performers who stood out in the gym during my time watching the games.    JB is a versatile guard-wing prospect who competes with a non-stop motor that epitomises the relentless style Detroit Renaissance plays as a team. They looked like a top-five team at the LBI Mitten Opening who can match up with anybody in the state. JB was active on both ends. She secured rebounds, closed out hard on the perimeter to block shots, and drove downhill with determination to earn trips to the free-throw line. JB buried a pull-up jumper, drained a triple from the slot, cut backdoor to score a layup, and made an excellent dump-off assist after drawing the help. She'll be a great pickup for a college program.     Se'Crette showed why she's a top-five prospect during games with Belleville at the LBI Mitten Open. She lulled her defender to sleep with a float hesitation dribble, then blew by down the baseline using a low crossover to score a layup. Se'Crette swished multiple three-pointers and kept her hands active on the defensive end. She has a methodical release and keeps her feet set to shoot on the catch.     Micah had a very productive day for Wayne Memorial at the LBI Mitten Opening. She pressured guards on the perimeter, swiped the ball away, and took it the other way for two points. Micah finished well with both hands at the rim off two feet and made an excellent transfer to convert a tough layup. She's going to be an important player in their lineup as the Zebras look ready to compete against anybody in the state.     Kayla was effective in every category for Goodrich at the LBI Mitten Opening--she'll be a stat stuffer again this season. Kayla caused turnovers with her pesky ball-pressure, distributed passes to open teammates, and created space using quick dribble combinations. She's a dual-threat playmaker who penetrates gaps, makes great kick-out passes, and drops in floaters. Kayla drilled a three-pointer in the slot and helped the Martians have a very successful day.     Kaitlyn contributes in every statistical category for Haslett, and that's what she did at the LBI Mitten Opening. Kaitlyn peppered the net from three-point range, cut hard to the basket, and finished effectively with both hands. She was a force on the offensive glass. Kaitlyn secured multiple rebounds and scored put-backs. She made a great recovery to block a shot from behind and appears ready for a phenomenal senior year.     Gabby converted tough layups in traffic and gave Howell a spark with her perimeter shooting at the LBI Mitten Opening. Gabby took the ball hard downhill and finished through contact for the and-one. She pushed the ball with pace in transition, put her defender in jail, switched to her left, and finished the layup. Gabby drilled a quick catch-and-release triple in the corner, then buried another open three. She used a shifty inside-out dribble move to create a driving lane and finished with the bucket. Gabby will be essential to the Highlanders' success this season.     Hannah's competitive demeanour and two-way impact stood out during her games for Howell at the LBI Mitten Opening. She drained back-to-back corner threes and actively communicated with teammates. One of her highlight plays happened when she used a shot fake on the perimeter, drove past the defender closing out, used a fake pass to freeze the help, and finished the layup. Hannah moves her feet quickly to cut off drives, chases down rebounds, and keeps her head on a swivel to distribute passes to open teammates. She'll be an important contributor for the Highlanders this winter.
