In two gritty, defense-oriented games for Detroit Renaissance at the Breslin Center, JB was the unquestioned leader on the court. JB paced the Phoenix with nine points, grabbed four rebounds, and added three steals during their 32-28 semifinal victory against DeWitt. She closed out hard to block perimeter shots, maneuvered into position to score offensive rebound put-backs, and penetrated off the dribble. JB led the offensive effort again in the State Championship Game against Muskegon, scoring the first seven points for Renni. She powered through a defender’s chest to score off the glass, went by for another layup after a quick lateral hesi dribble, and buried a wing three. JB drove through contact to finish off two in the second half and crashed the boards to score an and-one. She patiently lulled a defender to sleep with her dribble and then attacked downhill through the lane before dropping in a floater off two feet. JB turned in a determined two-way performance on the biggest stage, ending her career on a high note, while leading Renni with 17 points and eight rebounds.

JB is a versatile guard-wing prospect who competes with a non-stop motor that epitomises the relentless style Detroit Renaissance plays as a team. They looked like a top-five team at the LBI Mitten Opening who can match up with anybody in the state. JB was active on both ends. She secured rebounds, closed out hard on the perimeter to block shots, and drove downhill with determination to earn trips to the free-throw line. JB buried a pull-up jumper, drained a triple from the slot, cut backdoor to score a layup, and made an excellent dump-off assist after drawing the help. She’ll be a great pickup for a college program.

J.B. was one of the most athletic prospects in the gym at the SVSU Elite Camp. Her strong lead passes were among the best in the group during the 1-up drill. During the 3v3 segment, she showcased her quickness off the dribble and ability to get to the rim. J.B. used a quick spin move with a crossover dribble to score a layup and used a nice crossover jab move to create a driving lane. She blocked a shot, knocked down a mid-range pull-up, and went by again for a left-handed layup. During 5v5, J.B. pushed the ball the length of the court with speed to score a high pick-up layup with her left hand, then made a nice catch and finish layup off two feet. J.B. had a solid day and will be an exciting prospect to watch with Renni this winter.

JB is a guard/forward combo prospect who has continued to elevate herself in my mind since the first time I watched her play at the Michigan Cagers Invitational over a year ago. You can’t put a price on athleticism, a relentless disposition, vocal leadership, toughness, and two-way impact. JB checks all of those boxes and is a player that I would feel confident giving the responsibility of shutting down the opposing team’s best player–guard or forward. She’s developed her perimeter shooting, makes selfless passes to open teammates, scores explosive layups, rebounds the ball fiercely, and creates separation off the dribble. I would be shocked if there weren’t any D1 or D2 programs in Michigan offering JB an opportunity.

JB is a jack of all trades prospect who contributes in every aspect to help her team succeed–that’s exactly what she did for Lady FVV 17U-NXT on Saturday. JB started the game off right with a full-speed layup off the tip. She demonstrated leadership on the court by communicating with teammates and knowing where everyone should be. JB was persistent on the offensive glass, securing rebounds and scoring put-backs. She attacked the rack with hard, straight-line drives for layups and set the tone on defense per usual. JB is a combo guard/wing, who I expect to see gain interest from more colleges this spring.

Jaebri’an continues to build her reputation as an excellent two-way prospect for Renaissance and she had another great day today at Wayne State. Jaebri’an has the length and strength to body up an athletic 5 in the paint and she effectively denied low post entry passes. Jaebri’an scored transition layups, blocked shots, and beat her defender with a crossover to score a baseline drive off two. One of her best moments happened when she attacked with her dribble into a jump stop, showed the ball to get the defender to jump, then used a forward pivot to score a soft fadeaway floater.
