Dixie (4-0)

Dixie is the only 4A team from the south that remains unbeaten, with early wins over Nevada and Arizona opponents showing how steady they've been to start the season. Their biggest tests, however, are coming quickly—an undefeated 5A Wasatch team this week, followed by an undefeated Provo squad. Dixie's roster is big, young, and full of upside, with only one senior and a core built around a talented sophomore group. [player_tooltip player_id='873331' first='Izzy' last='Hollingshead'] continues to be the engine of everything they do on the floor, setting the tone on both ends. After the holiday break, they'll face Kanab, a matchup that could challenge Dixie on the boards and in the paint.

Provo (6-0)

Provo has opened the season undefeated, with its tightest contest coming in a ten-point win over Riverton. Staying perfect won't be easy. Up next is Bingham on Tuesday, a team that will pressure them on both ends, followed by a trip south to face undefeated Dixie on its home court. Provo's biggest strength is its ball movement—every player touches the ball, every player is a threat, and their unselfish tempo makes them difficult to scout. Looking ahead, they'll have to navigate two matchups against the in-region unbeaten Timpanogos and a clash with 6A American Fork. One game that could be a real measuring stick is their late-month meeting with Morgan, a 3A team that's starting to find its rhythm and could present a legitimate upset threat.

Timpanogos (5-0)

With an influx of new players from neighboring Pleasant Grove, Timpanogos has become the new game in town and is doing well at it so far. Of their top contributors, few wore a Timpanogos jersey last year. They haven't faced a team that has truly pushed them yet, with the closest test coming against a struggling Park City squad. Their upcoming slate won't make things much harder, as most opponents are from lower classifications, with the biggest challenge likely coming from in-region Mountain View. This team could remain undefeated, but it may be a misleading reflection of where they actually stand.

Kanab (6-0)

Kanab's roster features a true centerpiece in 6'5" [player_tooltip player_id='790604' first='Rylee' last='Little'], a University of Utah commit who has been the engine behind their undefeated start. She's been the dominant force in nearly every game—controlling the glass, anchoring the defense, and serving as their most reliable scoring option. Despite graduating a large senior class, Kanab's young supporting cast has risen to the moment, stepping into expanded roles and doing just enough around Little to keep the Cowboys firmly in the win column.

Their closest test so far came against fellow 2A contender Draper APA, and while they survived that matchup, the schedule ahead will give us an even clearer picture of Kanab's ceiling. A future showdown with Pleasant Grove—home to the one player in the state taller than Rylee—will offer one of the most intriguing individual matchups Utah will see this season. Beyond that, Kanab still has undefeated Dixie on the schedule, and two teams within their own region remain unbeaten as well.

How Kanab navigates those intra-region battles will likely determine the hierarchy in 2A and could preview how the bracket might shake out come late February. If Rylee continues her dominant trajectory and the young core keeps maturing, Kanab has every reason to believe they can stay at the top of the classification.

Enterprise (6-0)

Enterprise hasn't backed down from bigger challenges this season, knocking off 4A Crimson Cliffs and a strong Panguitch squad. December won't offer them any breaks, with matchups ahead against undefeated Kanab, a seasoned North Summit team, and an unbeaten Beaver group. Among the remaining undefeated teams in 2A, not all will stay perfect—many of them face each other in region play, including Enterprise. They have a seasoned duo with [player_tooltip player_id='879144' first='Jaycee' last='Barlow'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1445515' first='Hadlee' last='Holt'], both of whom bring valuable experience and poise to a team that looks ready to make another deep run. Their leadership and familiarity with high-pressure games should help Enterprise stay competitive through one of the toughest stretches on its schedule.

Beaver (4-0)

Beaver meets up with undefeated Enterprise tonight in a matchup guaranteed to hand one of them its first loss of the season. In a region loaded with familiar rivals and postseason-caliber teams, this game could be a preview of what the 2A state bracket might look like down the stretch. Beaver brings a young but highly productive lineup, with [player_tooltip player_id='1308537' first='Ruby' last='Lurth'] and [player_tooltip player_id='790608' first='Danzee' last='Bradshaw'] carrying the bulk of the scoring and providing the spark that's kept Beaver unbeaten. Their ability to control tempo and finish plays will be critical against an Enterprise squad that's already battled—and beaten—bigger, upper-classification opponents. This one has all the makings of a playoff-style test long before March arrives. On the calendar for Beaver going forward are a few teams to notice: North Summit, Kanab, and Draper APA.

Waterford has opened the season with some large point-differential wins, but the level of competition they've faced so far hasn't given us a true picture of where they stand. Their upcoming matchup with Draper APA in January is the first game on their schedule that could offer a meaningful test. While they may be undefeated at the moment, that record doesn't yet reveal how they'll fare against a team with structure, scoring ability, and discipline.

Tabiona (3-0)

Tabiona's schedule to this point has been fairly mild, but that won't last long. They face 4A Green Canyon this week, a matchup that will immediately test their early-season momentum. Beyond that, the TBA portion of their schedule makes it difficult to predict how their preseason record will shape up, but tougher competition is clearly on the horizon. They have a large roster of contributors and could surprise teams by year's end.
