Northwest Ohio key juniors- Part 2
Kaylee Brodine, 6-0 Findlay
Extremely athletic, who is a physically strong player, yet very quick. Kaylee can play around the rim, while also able to handle the ball well against the press. Developing a solid all-around offensive game, can step out to beyond the arc. Her combination of strength and speed makes her a very strong rebounder who had 17 double-doubles this season. The sky is the limit for her game as she continues to grow on the court.
Heidi Rethman, 5-7 Maria Stein Marion Local
What a great season for the Flyers this season, and Rethman played a huge role in that success. One of her strengths is her versatility as she can score from the outside, or get to the rim and finish. Very good basketball IQ that allows to score in many ways. She was very consistent from the perimeter and was above 80% from the free throw line, playing any position on the floor from the 1-4. Moves well without the ball and is a great floor leader for her team.
[player_tooltip player_id="159034" first="Jessica" last="Bowerman"], 5-9 Seneca East
Incredibly hard-working athlete who has a great drive for the game. Offensively gifted and can score in multiple ways for her team. Another aspect of her game she excels at is on the boards, as she plays big for her size. Good aggressive defender, hard-nosed who does all of this while expanding her energy guarding the opposing players most athletic player. Excellent body control, can finish at the rim and has a good basketball IQ.
Da’Shanti Miller, 5-11 Sandusky
A very strong player on the boards as she averaged double figures in both scoring and rebounding this season. Physically dominating at 5’11", she has the strength and explosiveness that makes it difficult for other post players to guard her. Often double-teamed, Da’Shanti still controlled the pace of play and was effective on the court. Good hands in the paint, finished at the rim. Not afraid of contact, and played through it.
Chesney Davis, 5-7 Mansfield Madison
Can score at all three levels, Davis is one of the more talented multi-dimensional guards in Northwest Ohio. Not only can she score at the basket, but she also has a solid midrange shot and will score from beyond the arc as well. Will find the best shot for her team, very good passer and distributes to the open player. Very athletic player who can defend any position on the floor. Incredible work ethic, and you can see when you watch her that she is a great leader, and I expect her recognition to soar when she steps onto the floor as a senior.
