About Hollynn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a combo guard who is a playmaker for my teammates and myself. I can score from all levels and crash the boards. I see the floor well on both defense and offense, making things happen consistently. I'm physical and not afraid to battle.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm super laid back, always up for a laugh, loyal to my friends, not afraid to binge watch a good show, and pretty sure my 6 brothers would say I'm the best (and only) sister around! I keep my chin up. I know mistakes are going to happen in life and on the court, and I've been coached and taught to keep going, play the next play even harder, and to hold my head up.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

As a freshman, I take honors classes and am on student council. I received multiple awards for grades in Middle School (I'm assuming you guys are wanting High School info. though).

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Being a leader, for sure. I'm looked as a leader, not just on the court but from my peers as well, and also by my brothers and cousins. I would also say a big area I have developed in is communication. I realize how important it is to be vocal on the court but again, off the court too. I need to announce when someone is running the baseline but also when a project is due soon.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I lost my dad when I was ten. We had spent the day at my AAU tournament, he didn't miss anything until after that day. Now he misses everything. And I miss him like crazy. Grief like that and being able to move forward has been tough. I truly believe that he is cheering me on in life and on the court (Hebrews 12:1). And I keep my chin up, always remembering him, but looking ahead too.

What type of college are you looking for?

A high energy, tight knit program that competes. Hard working and self-lessness are two things I value. I also want to be able to jump in there and contribute.
