Rian Forestier Rian Forestier 5'11" | SG Brandeis | 2024 State TX (Players First)
Forestier reminds me so much of Carleigh Wenzel Carleigh Wenzel 5'11" | SG O'Connor | 2022 State #51 Nation TX when I first started watching her that I was tickled to find out they worked out together. That pull-up jumper, the form, and the accuracy are all there before high school but her savviness is so impressive because she plays within herself, doesn’t force anything and creates her shot under pressure. When you think the game at this stage, that’s a huge plus, well so is having a pull-up jumper going full speed in transition and that midrange is off the chart
Kennedy Evans Kennedy Evans 5'11" | SG Legion Prep Academy | 2024 State TX (Cy Fair)
Evans’ had range in the 5th grade, the time has certainly flown and back then I was so impressed with her poise while playing up as much as watching her let it fly but over the years, I saw progression as she took defenders at will and mixes it up nicely for the 10-15 footer but the long ball is a couple of feet past the NBA line. She elevates on the jumper and with her strength, she has been in several 4 point opportunities
Grace Riggs Grace Riggs 5'9" | SG Harker Heights | 2024 State TX (Cy Fair)
I post this a lot, maybe not as much as “it’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against” but this one is just as important, college coaches love big guards that can shoot and Riggs has an array of offensive skills starting with the jumper. She creates her shot under pressure, showed a step back just for fun but the hesitation definitely can get defenders off balance however when she showed me a reverse lay-up, twice, with both hands, I stopped writing, well for that event
Janiah Lenoir Janiah Lenoir 5'7" | SG State TX (Players First)
Lenoir is a perfect example of my hashtagging #talentisevrywhere with the amendment “if you know what you’re looking at” and with nothing on her in my search bars, it would be safe to say I hadn’t seen her or I wasn’t given a roster but she falls into that “left me with a lasting first impression” category. The stutter-step, the crossover, the shake and bake are all there but I wrote “ups” because she’s so athletic and elevates over defenders and drops that long ball nicely as well as the mid
