The JSE Showcase in West Monroe was packed with talent, recruiting buzz and high-level competition—but the elite scorers stole the spotlight.

With college coaches, evaluators and some of Louisiana's most highly regarded prospects inside the building, the stage was set for players to make major statements. The top offensive performers did not waste the opportunity. They attacked with confidence, created difficult matchups and showed they could produce points from every area of the floor.

This was not a showcase filled with players simply waiting for open shots. The best scorers went out and created their own opportunities.

Guards pushed the tempo, broke defenders down off the dribble and attacked the rim with purpose. Wings used their size, athleticism and versatility to score in transition, finish through contact and knock down shots from the perimeter. Frontcourt prospects controlled the paint while also displaying the touch and shooting range needed to stretch opposing defenses.

The three-level scorers were especially impressive. They showed the ability to finish at the basket, stop and rise from the mid-range and punish defenders from behind the three-point line. When defenses took away one option, these prospects quickly adjusted and found another way to put points on the board.

Several players caught fire early and immediately gave their teams momentum. Others delivered when the games became tight, confidently taking big shots and making clutch plays with the pressure rising. The ability to remain aggressive while making smart decisions separated the showcase's most dangerous offensive threats.

What made these performances even more impressive was the quality of competition. Players were competing against length, physicality and strong defensive pressure throughout the event. Easy baskets were not always available, but the elite scorers continued to find solutions.

They used pace changes, footwork, body control and creativity to manufacture scoring opportunities. Some created separation with polished handles and step-back jumpers, while others overpowered defenders around the basket. The most complete scorers also understood when to draw extra attention and deliver the ball to an open teammate.

That balance between scoring and playmaking made several prospects nearly impossible to contain.

The JSE Showcase also gave younger players an opportunity to challenge established names. Several rising prospects looked completely comfortable on the big stage, playing with confidence beyond their years and showing that the next wave of Louisiana talent is already coming.

The college coaches in attendance had plenty to evaluate. The showcase featured explosive guards, versatile wings, skilled forwards and powerful interior players who all demonstrated the ability to impact the scoreboard.

Some prospects strengthened their reputations. Others introduced themselves to a much larger audience. A select group left West Monroe with their stock moving quickly upward after putting together dominant offensive performances.

At the JSE Showcase, the message was loud and clear: Louisiana has bucket getters.

The elite scorers came ready, took over the moment and turned West Monroe into their personal stage. From deep three-pointers and smooth pull-up jumpers to powerful finishes through contact, the offensive talent was on full display.

The baskets kept coming, the crowd stayed energized and the top scorers made sure their names would be remembered long after the final whistle.

JSE Team Camp- Top Standout Performers | Prep Girls Hoops

NSU Team Camp- Class of 2027 Prospects | Prep Girls Hoops

NSU Team Camp- Class of 2028 Prospects | Prep Girls Hoops

NSU Team Camp: Top Performers | Prep Girls Hoops

LSU Team Camp: Top Prospects | Prep Girls Hoops

Did you miss my most recent article?
Tap in using the link below and stay updated on the latest evaluations, rankings, and rising prospects.

Follow me on Instagram or X: @CoachLathan

[player_tooltip player_id='943302' first='Kennedy' last='Aldridge'] stepped onto the floor at the JSE Showcase in West Monroe and immediately looked like one of the most complete guards in the building. The quick and athletic point guard controlled the action with confidence, played at her own pace and showed why she is viewed as a legitimate next-level prospect.

Aldridge's court vision was on another level. She consistently saw plays developing before the defense could react, delivered passes into tight windows and created quality scoring opportunities for her teammates. Whether she was pushing the break, operating in the half court or attacking off the dribble, she made smart reads and kept the offense moving.

She was also a major scoring threat. Aldridge showed the ability to produce at all three levels, finishing around the rim, rising into the mid-range and knocking down perimeter shots. Her speed allowed her to turn the corner on defenders, while her body control and decision-making helped her finish possessions without playing out of control.

On defense, Aldridge was just as impressive. She applied strong ball pressure, stayed in front of quick guards and competed with toughness on every possession. She can flat-out guard, using her quick feet, anticipation and basketball intelligence to disrupt opposing offenses and create transition opportunities.

What separated Aldridge was her total command of the game. She scored, defended, created for others and understood when her team needed her to take over. Her high basketball IQ was evident in the way she managed tempo, recognized matchups and consistently made winning decisions.

[player_tooltip player_id='943302' first='Kennedy' last='Aldridge'] was truly one of the most well-rounded athletes at the JSE Showcase. She has the vision of a floor general, the scoring ability of an elite guard and the defensive mindset needed to impact games at the next level. This was a statement performance from one of Louisiana's premier prospects in the 2027 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='944059' first='Gioia' last='Tatum'] is back at Ruston High School, and she wasted no time reminding Louisiana basketball what she brings to the floor.

At the JSE Showcase, Tatum delivered one of the most clutch performances of the event. She made hustle plays throughout the game, defended with intensity and helped give Ruston a much-needed spark. But when the fourth quarter arrived and the game tightened up, Tatum completely changed the momentum.

With the score hanging in the balance, she caught fire from deep.

Tatum buried three huge three-pointers in the fourth quarter, helping push Ruston in front and secure the win. These were not empty shots in a comfortable game. They were pressure shots in winning time, and Tatum stepped into each one with confidence.

Tatum brings real value as a floor-spacing guard. She moves well without the ball, understands how to find open space and stays ready to punish defenses when they lose track of her. Her shooting forces opponents to extend their coverage, creating more room for teammates to attack.

She also contributes beyond the box score. Tatum competes for loose balls, plays with urgency and brings a vocal, emotional spark that can lift an entire lineup. Her ability to stay composed and become even more aggressive when the pressure rises is what separated her at JSE.

The 2027 guard is listed as a point guard and shooting guard for Ruston, and her public profile also reflects her strong academic standing. That combination of shooting, toughness, competitiveness and classroom discipline gives her a strong foundation as a next-level prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='944059' first='Gioia' last='Tatum'] did not simply knock down shots in West Monroe. She delivered when the game needed a closer.

Three fourth-quarter threes. Momentum flipped. Game secured.

The comeback is real, and [player_tooltip player_id='944059' first='Gioia' last='Tatum'] is making sure her name stays on the radar.

[player_tooltip player_id='943314' first='DeAsia' last='Alexander'] put on a show at the JSE Showcase and reminded everybody why she is one of the most dangerous guards in Louisiana's 2027 class. In a hard-fought, close win, the 5'10” combo guard was a difference-maker all night long, leading her team with 28 points and delivering in big moments.

Alexander is the type of big guard who can do it all, and she showed the full package in West Monroe. She scored with confidence, played with poise and attacked the game with the kind of presence that instantly stands out. Whether she was creating off the bounce, getting downhill, knocking down shots or making plays in space, she kept constant pressure on the defense.

What makes DeAsia so dangerous is her versatility. She has the size to create matchup problems, the skill to score in multiple ways and the all-around game to impact every possession. She can handle it, score it and make winning plays when the moment gets big. In a showcase filled with talent, she proved she can rise above the noise and take over.

Her 28-point performance was not just about numbers—it was about control, confidence and production when her team needed it most. She stepped up in a close game and played like a true go-to option.

[player_tooltip player_id='943314' first='DeAsia' last='Alexander'] was one of the biggest standouts at the JSE Showcase, and if this performance was any indication, her stock should continue to rise. Big guard. Big game. Big-time prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1872678' first='Aiyana' last='Minor'] stepped onto the floor at the JSE Showcase in West Monroe and played like a guard who was completely built for the moment.

Facing a talented opponent in a rematch of the LHSAA Class 5A state championship game, Minor showed tremendous composure and helped lead Slidell to a major victory. With the pressure high and plenty of talent in the building, the 2028 guard rose to the occasion and delivered a strong 15-point performance.

Minor played with confidence from the opening tip. She controlled the tempo, stayed poised against defensive pressure and consistently put her team in position to succeed. Whether she was creating offense, attacking the basket or making the correct read, she showed the command and basketball intelligence expected from an elite floor general.

Offensively, Minor proved that she can score from all three levels. She attacked the rim, showed touch in the mid-range and remained a threat from behind the three-point line. Her ability to change pace and create scoring opportunities made it difficult for defenders to keep her contained.

Defensively, she was relentless.

Minor pressured the ball, disrupted the opposing offense and competed with intensity on every possession. She showed quick feet, active hands and the toughness needed to lock down her matchup. Her defense created momentum and allowed Slidell to generate additional opportunities in transition.

What stood out most was her ability to perform when the game mattered. Minor did not become overwhelmed by the stage, the opponent or the pressure surrounding the matchup. She remained composed, embraced the challenge and helped guide her team to the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1872678' first='Aiyana' last='Minor'] looked every bit like a next-level player at the JSE Showcase. She can control the game, score from anywhere on the floor and defend with a serious edge. She is only entering her junior season, but she already plays with the confidence, maturity and competitive fire of a veteran.

Minor made a major statement in West Monroe, and Louisiana basketball should expect to hear much more from the Slidell guard moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1872687' first='Jahzarah' last='Brown'] showed at the JSE Showcase that she is an up-and-coming Louisiana prospect who needs to be placed firmly on the radar.

The quick 2029 point guard brought instant offense, strong pace and serious confidence to the floor. In a tight matchup, Brown helped carry White Castle to the win by leading the team with 20 points, showing that she can produce when the pressure is high and every possession matters.

Brown was dangerous because she could hurt the defense in multiple ways. She attacked the basket, created scoring opportunities off the bounce and showed the ability to put points on the board from all three levels. Her speed allowed her to beat defenders to spots, while her control helped her stay composed and make the right play.

She was not just hunting shots, either. Brown shared the basketball, kept teammates involved and showed the vision of a true lead guard. That ability to balance scoring with playmaking made her especially difficult to contain. Public evaluations have also highlighted her passing, facilitation and willingness to make the game easier for the players around her.

What stood out most was her ability to impact winning. Brown played with confidence in a close game, created momentum and answered when her team needed a basket. She has already shown that she is comfortable in pressure situations, including converting a game-winning opportunity at a previous event.

Her motor and competitiveness also deserve attention. Brown plays hard, stays active and brings purpose to her possessions. She has the speed to push transition, the handle to create separation and the instincts to find openings before the defense can recover.

[player_tooltip player_id='1872687' first='Jahzarah' last='Brown'] is still early in her high school career, but the upside is obvious. She is a quick, skilled and fearless young guard who can score, create for others and step up in winning time.

Remember the name. [player_tooltip player_id='1872687' first='Jahzarah' last='Brown'] is one of the next young guards coming out of Louisiana, and her stock is only beginning to rise.
