Buckets on Display: Elite Scorers Take Over the JSE Showcase

The JSE Showcase in West Monroe was packed with talent, recruiting buzz and high-level competition—but the elite scorers stole the spotlight.   With college coaches, evaluators and some of Louisiana's most highly regarded prospects inside the building, the stage was set for players to make major statements. The top offensive performers did not waste the opportunity. They attacked with confidence, created difficult matchups and showed they could produce points from every area of the floor.   This was not a showcase filled with players simply waiting for open shots. The best scorers went out and created their own opportunities.   Guards pushed the tempo, broke defenders down off the dribble and attacked the rim with purpose. Wings used their size, athleticism and versatility to score in transition, finish through contact and knock down shots from the perimeter. Frontcourt prospects controlled the paint while also displaying the touch and shooting range needed to stretch opposing defenses.   The three-level scorers were especially impressive. Aldridge showed the ability to produce at all three levels, finishing around the rim, rising into the mid-range and knocking down perimeter shots. Her speed allowed her to turn the corner on defenders, while her body control and decision-making helped her finish possessions without playing out of control.   On defense, Aldridge was just as impressive. She applied strong ball pressure, stayed in front of quick guards and competed with toughness on every possession. They were pressure shots in winning time, and Tatum stepped into each one with confidence.   Tatum brings real value as a floor-spacing guard. She moves well without the ball, understands how to find open space and stays ready to punish defenses when they lose track of her. Whether she was creating off the bounce, getting downhill, knocking down shots or making plays in space, she kept constant pressure on the defense.   What makes DeAsia so dangerous is her versatility. She has the size to create matchup problems, the skill to score in multiple ways and the all-around game to impact every possession. She can handle it, score it and make winning plays when the moment gets big. In a showcase filled with talent, she proved she can rise above the noise and take over.   Her 28-point performance was not just about numbers—it was about control, confidence and production when her team needed it most. She stepped up in a close game and played like a true go-to option. With the pressure high and plenty of talent in the building, the 2028 guard rose to the occasion and delivered a strong 15-point performance.   Minor played with confidence from the opening tip. She controlled the tempo, stayed poised against defensive pressure and consistently put her team in position to succeed. Whether she was creating offense, attacking the basket or making the correct read, she showed the command and basketball intelligence expected from an elite floor general.   Offensively, Minor proved that she can score from all three levels. She attacked the rim, showed touch in the mid-range and remained a threat from behind the three-point line. Her ability to change pace and create scoring opportunities made it difficult for defenders to keep her contained.   Defensively, she was relentless.   Minor pressured the ball, disrupted the opposing offense and competed with intensity on every possession. She showed quick feet, active hands and the toughness needed to lock down her matchup. The quick 2029 point guard brought instant offense, strong pace and serious confidence to the floor. In a tight matchup, Brown helped carry White Castle to the win by leading the team with 20 points, showing that she can produce when the pressure is high and every possession matters.   Brown was dangerous because she could hurt the defense in multiple ways. She attacked the basket, created scoring opportunities off the bounce and showed the ability to put points on the board from all three levels. Her speed allowed her to beat defenders to spots, while her control helped her stay composed and make the right play.   She was not just hunting shots, either. Brown shared the basketball, kept teammates involved and showed the vision of a true lead guard. That ability to balance scoring with playmaking made her especially difficult to contain. Public evaluations have also highlighted her passing, facilitation and willingness to make the game easier for the players around her.   What stood out most was her ability to impact winning. Brown played with confidence in a close game, created momentum and answered when her team needed a basket. She has already shown that she is comfortable in pressure situations, including converting a game-winning opportunity at a previous event.   Her motor and competitiveness also deserve attention.
