2028 Rankings- Skilled Guards

Here are a few guards that sit inside the Top 30, that are very skilled and should provide some outstanding play this year when the season tips off in November.    “Pinky” is one of the most explosive athletic guards in Ohio. She jumps the ball really well, can read and react in advance, which is huge in her defensive game. She's aggressive, can take the steal and finish in transition. A player who is a definite playmaker at both ends of the floor, she is just a difference maker.      When I first saw her as a freshman, I expected her to be among the best in the Buckeye state, and she has not disappointed. She is an elite guard who is strong, physical and quick. She can put her team on her back and carry them to success, although they are so talented she doesn't need to do that very often. Her skill set is at a very high level, some say should be ranked higher. She's as good as anybody in the state but the top kids in this class are all elite and she fits right in with that group.     She can do it all, offensively and defensively, she can play different styles of game and she contributes inside or out. She is a good solid guard, hard nosed worker who leaves everything on the floor. She can create her shot well and is a player who continues to work hard to improve her game. She's got some solid D1 offers, well earned with more likely to come.     Northwest Ohio is so often overlooked for talent, but there are a few of them who will definitely draw your attention, and Kendall is one of them. She's got next level skill, she's a big-time scorer, she is the reigning Ohio D6 Player of the Year and she's ready for more. Smooth jumper with great range, she will light you up on any given night. Working hard to expand her skill set, I'm excited to see what she does as a junior.     You can count on one hand the absolute elite shooters in Ohio and Emma is in that conversation. She can absolutely light you up from behind the arc and the thing is, she doesn't need much time or room. She's a quick catch and shoot player who just drains them all game long. If you come after her, she'll get past you and get to the rim. Her game is becoming more complete, and that makes her even more dangerous to defend.      I was told about Anna when she was in eighth grade, and she has done nothing but dominate at the high school level for Madison Plains. She sees the floor so well, distributes and makes the difficult pass. Very capable of scoring in all three phases, a player who continues to get better now her younger sister starts her second year with Anna on varsity and those two are quite a duo.
