The Summit Spotlight: Team Thrill 17U

Team Thrill 17U put together an impressive performance at The Summit, finishing 2-1 with a tough 2-point loss in their only defeat. The group played with energy, defended at a high level, and thrived in transition. While multiple players made an impact in some capacity, these 5 players stood out with the way they influenced the game on both ends of the floor.    Myers impacted the game with her versatility, contributing both on the perimeter and in the paint when needed. Defensively, she contested shots, disrupted passing lanes, and generated turnovers that quickly turned into transition opportunities for her team. She also stayed aggressive offensively, attacking the basket to draw fouls and earn trips to the free-throw line.     Redmond created offense in both transition and the half court. She battled on the offensive glass for second-chance opportunities when her team played with a smaller lineup and wasn't afraid to attack inside. She capped off her performance with an aggressive and-one finish in closing seconds of a game, converting the free throw.     Davis immediately changed the pace of the game with her defensive pressure and ability to create transition opportunities. She generated steals, secured defensive rebounds, and looked to advance the ball to teammates for easy scoring opportunities. As the primary facilitator, she communicated well, keeping her team organized while balancing tempo with playmaking.     Higginbotham made an impact on both ends of the floor with her ability to score, defend, and create in transition. She attacked the basket, earning multiple trips to the free-throw line while also using her ball-handling to push the pace after forcing turnovers. Her court vision stood out as well, highlighted by a transition assist after turning a steal into a fast-break opportunity.     Debourou provided leadership by communicating throughout possessions and helping organize the offense. She showed the ability to facilitate when needed while making sound decisions with the ball in her hands. She also attacked the basket, drawing contact on a strong drive and converting both free throws.
