The Expo Wish List: 2027 Shooting Guards I Want to See

The Expo is coming to Grand Rapids on Saturday, September 26th, bringing another opportunity for prospects to compete and showcase their game in front of college coaches. There is already a talented group of players on the attendee list, but my Expo Wish List continues with some uncommitted 2027s I would love to see added to the mix. Next up are the shooting guards—a group of players who can impact the game in different ways, whether it's knocking down shots from the perimeter, attacking off the bounce, creating for others, or making plays on the defensive end. Sophie is an uncommitted 2027 combo guard I would love to see at The Expo because of the versatility she brings to the floor. She is comfortable running the offense and handling point guard responsibilities, but she can also slide off the ball and be a scoring threat. Sophie is an athletic, explosive guard who uses her bounce to elevate around the rim and has the strength and body control to finish through contact. She also contributes on the glass, using her athleticism and toughness to come away with rebounds in traffic. On the defensive end, Sophie competes with a high motor and can make things difficult for opposing guards. Her ability to run an offense, score the basketball, defend, rebound, and impact multiple areas of the game gives her a well-rounded skill set that college coaches should get a chance to see at The Expo.     Elle is an uncommitted 2027 guard I would love to see at The Expo because of the impact she can make on both ends of the floor. She is a dangerous perimeter shooter with the range and confidence to make defenses account for her well beyond the three-point line. Elle has shown the ability to consistently knock down shots from deep, giving her the potential to provide instant offense and stretch a defense. She also brings a high basketball IQ to the defensive end, where she reads the action well, puts herself in the right spots, and anticipates passing lanes to create turnovers. Shooting is always a valuable skill at the next level, and when you combine Elle's perimeter threat with her instincts and awareness defensively, she is an uncommitted 2027 I would love to see get in front of the college coaches at The Expo.     Sophia is an uncommitted 2027 guard I would love to see at The Expo because of the different ways she can create offense. She is a confident perimeter shooter who has shown she can knock down threes from multiple spots on the floor, whether she is coming off action or spotting up for an open look. Sophia can also attack off the bounce, finding gaps in the defense and getting herself to the free-throw line. She brings value in transition as well, securing defensive rebounds and immediately pushing the pace to create scoring opportunities before the defense can get set. Her footwork and ability to maneuver through traffic add another dimension to her game. With her combination of shooting, attacking ability, and transition play, Sophia is a guard I would love to see showcase her game in front of the college coaches at The Expo.     Meredith is an uncommitted 2027 guard-wing I would love to see at The Expo, especially because she does not compete on the travel circuit and this would be another opportunity to get her in front of college coaches. She has the length, athleticism, and versatility that translate well to the next level, along with a well-rounded skill set on both ends of the floor. Meredith can use her shifty handle to create space, explode downhill with long strides, and finish with touch around the rim. She can also stretch the floor as a reliable three-point shooter, giving her multiple ways to score. Defensively, Meredith can make an impact as a stopper, while her willingness to rebound adds even more value to her game. She has already proven herself against strong competition, and I would love to see her get another chance to showcase everything she brings to the floor at The Expo.     Emily is an uncommitted 2027 guard I would love to see at The Expo because she can impact the game in several ways. She is a consistent threat from behind the arc, with the ability to stretch the defense and make opponents pay for giving her space. Emily is more than a perimeter shooter, though, as she can attack off the dribble, get into the lane, and make the right read when the defense collapses. She has shown the ability to draw multiple defenders before finding an open teammate for a quality scoring opportunity. Defensively, Emily stays active, anticipates well, and uses quick hands to create steals and extra possessions. Her combination of perimeter shooting, playmaking, and defensive activity gives her a well-rounded game that I would love to see showcased in front of the college coaches at The Expo.
