The Expo: One More Wish List Before Saturday

The Expo is almost here, and before the action gets underway Saturday in Grand Rapids, I have one more group of players I'd love to see make the trip. Over the past few weeks, I've highlighted prospects from several classes who I believe would add even more talent to an already impressive group expected to be in the gym. For this final wish list, I'm opening it up to any class and focusing on players who have caught my attention at different points throughout the spring, summer, and fall. Each brings something different to the floor, and I'd love another opportunity to watch them compete. She has the quickness to get past defenders and create opportunities off the bounce, whether that means getting all the way to the basket or finding an open teammate. Brooklyn can also stretch the floor with her ability to knock down shots from behind the arc, giving her multiple ways to put pressure on a defense. Her passing adds another dimension to her game, as she can create for others when defenders collapse on her drives. Brooklyn also makes an impact on the defensive end, where her quick hands and activity allow her to create steals and turn them into opportunities going the other way. Her combination of speed, ball skills, shooting, playmaking, and defensive activity is why I would love to get another look at Brooklyn competing at The Expo.     Leah is a guard I would love to see at The Expo because of the length, athleticism, and versatility she brings to the floor. She has the ability to impact the game in several different ways, making her an intriguing player to watch on both ends. Leah can get downhill and attack the basket, while also providing a perimeter threat with her ability to knock down shots from behind the arc. Her length is an asset defensively, allowing her to match up with different positions and disrupt opponents on the perimeter. She brings a nice combination of size, athleticism, shooting, and the ability to create off the bounce from the guard position. With the different ways she can contribute on both ends of the floor, Leah is a player I would love to get another look at and see competing at The Expo.     Halle is a player I would love to see at The Expo because of the skill and versatility she brings to the backcourt. She is a dangerous perimeter shooter who can make defenses pay from behind the arc, but she also has the handle and shiftiness to create off the dribble. Halle can get downhill, use her creativity to finish around the basket, or recognize when the defense collapses and create opportunities for her teammates. Her ability to balance scoring with facilitating makes her difficult to defend and gives her multiple ways to impact an offense. Halle also plays with a high basketball IQ, competes on the defensive end, and works hard on the glass from the guard position. With her shooting, playmaking, creativity, and all-around approach to the game, Halle is another player I would love to see competing at The Expo.     Hadleigh is a player I would love to see at The Expo because of the motor, athleticism, and length she brings to the floor. I've had the opportunity to watch her play, and she finds ways to make an impact with her activity on both ends. Hadleigh is a strong rebounder who works the offensive glass for second-chance opportunities and can finish around the basket after securing boards. She moves well without the ball, has strong hands when receiving passes inside, and isn't afraid to step out and take a three. Defensively, her length and timing allow her to protect the rim, contest shots, deflect passes, and disrupt possessions without constantly fouling. She also does some of the little things, including setting solid screens and competing for position around the basket. With her length, athleticism, rebounding, and defensive presence, Hadleigh is another player I would love to see competing at The Expo.     Katie is a player I would love to see at The Expo because of the strength, athleticism, and energy she brings to the frontcourt. She is a tough matchup around the basket with the ability to score in different ways, whether she is working with her back to the basket or facing up and attacking off the dribble. Katie plays through contact, puts pressure on the defense around the rim, and has a knack for earning trips to the free-throw line. She also brings a strong presence on the glass, consistently competing for rebounds and creating additional opportunities for her team. Defensively, Katie can hold her own in the post and use her strength and mobility to make things difficult inside. She has already put together some impressive performances this spring, and her combination of physical tools, interior production, and developing versatility makes her a player I would love to see competing at The Expo.
