After a Headliners Invitational Showcase First Team performance, Brooklyn was ready to make another statement with Mystics 17U S40 at the PGH MI College Tour. She was dialed in from beyond the arc, ripping the nets with threes from the wings and the corner. Brooklyn threw great passes to cutters for assists, secured defensive rebounds, and chased down an offensive board before sinking a contested jumper. She ripped the ball away clean for a steal and scored a speedy drive-by layup off two feet. Brooklyn locked down opposing guards with her quick lateral footwork and solidified her place as a top 25 prospect.

Brooklyn was expected to be one of the best point guard prospects at the P2W Headliners Invitational Showcase, and she proved it on the court, turning in an All-Showcase First Team performance. Brooklyn led the attack for Team Wings. She made a smart backdoor cut from the corner, caught the pass in stride, and finished with a smooth reverse layup. Brooklyn earned style points, making a sweet behind-the-back bounce pass assist to a teammate cutting to the basket. She pushed the ball up the court with pace using both hands after securing defensive rebounds and finished at the rim. Brooklyn scored a full-speed bucket in transition, drilled a deep wing three, and took a steal coast-to-coast for another full-court layup. Her gritty defensive effort stood out amongst the group. Brooklyn is a complete point guard who gets the job done on both ends of the floor and never gets outworked.

My eyes lit up when I saw Brooklyn’s name on the registration list. She is the top-rated point guard coming into the event with the fundamental skill set and instincts necessary to excel as the lead guard, while also being capable of playing off the ball. Playing off the ball is a rare commodity at the high school level and an attribute that will make her an asset right away in college. Brooklyn’s game translates to the college level, and she’s excelled in every area of competition (elite camps, high school games, AAU) during my many evaluations of her over the past year. She scores at all three levels, defends, facilitates, finishes, has the ball on a string, and carries herself with a confident humility. Brooklyn looks ready to turn heads at the Headliners Invitational Showcase on Sunday.

Brooklyn is a Swiss Army knife combo guard who takes on whatever role she needs to play to help the team succeed. You can count on her defense, rebounding, passing, poised ball-handling, and dual-threat scoring abilities night in and night out. She turned in a complete performance against Avondale in the District 27 semifinals. Brooklyn attacked her defender with an explosive dribble, stopped on a dime, and sank the pull-up jumper. She buried another pull-up from the free throw line and threw an overhead entry pass into the low pass through a narrow window for the assist. Brooklyn showed her perimeter range, burying threes from the wing and up top. Her scrappy defense created turnovers, and Brooklyn poured in 15 points for Clarkston in the win.

Covert does a great job of controlling the pace for the Clarkston offense. She’s got great handles and has her head up looking for an open teammate. Her high energy on defense is contagious followed by active hands making it tough for opponents to execute their offense. She is ready to attack her defender at any moment and doesn’t shy away from the contact.

Brooklyn had another strong elite camp performance at GVSU yesterday. She keeps showing up and balling out in big situations against top prospects. Brooklyn was a playmaker for her team in every category at camp. She chased down rebounds, scrapped for 50/50 balls, created many steals, and was an excellent facilitator. Brooklyn drained a three-pointer in the slot and read the opponent’s mind, picking off a lackadaisical pass in the backcourt to score an easy layup. She converted several layups with breakneck speed off the dribble and kept defenders off balance with her shifty crossover dribbles. Brooklyn got downhill, drew the help defender, then dished a bounce pass on the money for an assist. She’s a point guard who consistently proves her value as a college prospect with days like this.

The first time I saw Brooklyn was as a freshman. She delivered the game-winning floater for Clarkston after weaving through full-court pressure in the closing seconds of the game. Since then, she’s only gotten better. Brooklyn has developed into a compact and physically robust guard with basketball abilities and a competitive disposition that make her one of the best point guards in this class. Brooklyn creates points with her passing and is explosive as a driver. She’s an elusive ball-handler and an accurate three-point shooter. Brooklyn impacts games with her all-out defense and was phenomenal at the Swartz Creek Summer League. She solidified herself as a top 15 prospect with a stout AAU/HS Summer.

Brooklyn started her day with a shifty crossover step back swish and continued to shine for Clarkston at the Swartz Creek Summer League. She buried a corner three off a screen and created open looks for teammates by collapsing the defense with her hard drives before dishing strong passes to open shooters. Brooklyn knocked down mid-range jumpers off the dribble, dropped in a smooth floater after a crossover, and cut back door to score a layup. She showed her expertise as a facilitator and dynamic ball-handler, making great decisions and accurate passes with the ball in her hands. Brooklyn is one of the best point guards in the 2027 class and her impact shows on both sides of the ball every time I watch her play–she empties the tank every game.

Brooklyn, a gritty guard for Michigan Storm, made her presence felt on both ends of the floor. Defensively, she was a menace-racking up multiple steals with quick hands and relentless pressure, even diving on the floor to secure possessions. On offense, she displayed tight ball control and excellent court awareness, threading passes and creating opportunities. She also knocked down shots from deep and was confident in the mid-range, showing her ability to score at all three levels.

Brooklyn had a solid all-around performance for Clarkston Saturday at the Laker MLK Classic. She froze her defender with a quick shot fake, took one dribble into the paint, and then elevated to score a contested floater off two feet. Brooklyn high-pointed a pass for a steal and then beat everyone down the floor to score a layup. She hit free throws, dished out assists, corralled offensive rebounds, and drilled a wing 3. Brooklyn led the team with 20 points in a good win for the Wolves.
