PGH Expo: Team 2 Evaluations

The 2026 Expo brought together more than 100 prospects for a full day of basketball in front of PGH scouts and college coaches from the D2, D3, NAIA, NCCAA, and JUCO levels. Players competed throughout four hours of predetermined 3v3 and 5v5 matchups, giving them multiple opportunities to showcase different parts of their game. One of the things that makes Prep Girls Hoops showcases unique is that every player receives post-event coverage, along with social media exposure and evaluations from the event. Players also had the opportunity to compete alongside talented high school players and be coached by different college coaches throughout the day. My coverage focused primarily on Teams 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, and 9. Here is a look at what I saw from the players competing on Team 2 at The Expo:    Lily, playing on Team 2 at The Expo, showed her ability to handle the ball and attack off the dribble. She got downhill on multiple occasions, putting pressure on the defense and working her way into the lane. Lily also competed on the offensive glass, tracking down rebounds to create additional opportunities for her team. In transition, she played with her head up and delivered a well-timed pass to a teammate.     Inaaya, playing on Team 2 at The Expo, showed different pieces of her offensive game throughout the day. During 3v3, she showed her range by knocking down a deep three and made a nice read in the pick-and-roll to find her teammate. In 5v5 action, Inaaya used a quick crossover to get past her defender and attack downhill. She continued to be a threat from the perimeter as well, connecting on another three.     Mia, playing on Team 2 at The Expo, brought good activity on both ends of the floor. Defensively, she used active hands to create several tie-ups and make things difficult for the offense. She also worked hard on the glass, tracking down long offensive rebounds and giving her team extra possessions. On the offensive end, Mia attacked along the baseline, drew the defense, and made a nice kick-out pass to an open teammate.     Lexi, playing on Team 2 at The Expo, consistently looked to attack and put pressure on the defense. She used a strong rip-through to get past her defender and make her way to the rim, while also getting downhill off the dribble on multiple possessions. Lexi was active in transition as well, running the floor hard and putting herself in position to finish for a bucket.     Sophia, playing on Team 2 at The Expo, did a nice job turning her work on the defensive glass into transition opportunities. After securing a defensive rebound, she immediately got the break started and pushed the pace up the floor. On another possession, Sophia pulled down the board, played with her head up, and delivered a nice pass in transition to help create an opportunity for her team.     Naomi, playing on Team 2 at The Expo, was one of my top performers on the day. She is a quick, shifty guard with a strong handle who consistently found ways to make things happen. Defensively, Naomi came away with multiple steals, including one she turned into an and-one on the other end with impressive footwork around the rim. She also competed hard on the offensive glass, tracking down multiple rebounds to extend possessions. Naomi moved well without the ball, relocating after her passes and finding open windows in the defense. She rounded out her performance by knocking down shots from behind the arc.     Claire, playing on Team 2 at The Expo, unfortunately rolled her ankle during her final 3v3 game and was unable to compete in the 5v5 portion of the event. Before the injury, she made an impact in several areas during 3v3 play. Claire used her length extremely well defensively, recording multiple blocks and getting her hands on passes for deflections. Offensively, she had a strong finish as the roller in the pick-and-roll and showed she could attack off the dribble with a nice baseline rip to get by her defender.     Hadleigh, playing on Team 2 at The Expo, brought a strong interior presence throughout the day. From her post position, she impressed with how well she ran the floor, consistently getting ahead in transition and putting herself in position around the rim. In the half court, Hadleigh worked hard to establish position, sealing her defender and giving her teammates a clear target inside. Defensively, she protected the paint with multiple blocks and did a nice job walling up in the post without giving up easy looks.     Zoe, playing on Team 2 at The Expo, brought consistent effort and energy throughout the day. She made numerous hustle plays, staying involved and competing for extra possessions. Zoe was a strong presence on the glass, rebounding well on both the offensive and defensive ends. She also provided rim protection defensively, using her length and timing to come away with multiple blocks.
