Continue ReadingWith nearly 70 games won over the past three seasons, American Heritage has built a dynasty over in Plantation. Bundled in that success has been three consecutive state championships. The scary part is that the Patriot regime is far from over. While the focus in my first piece was on a pair of twins, the Patriots are much more than that. Moreover, this area has a handful of other prospects who along with American Heritage makes this county one of the best in the nation.
Let’s get right into part three of this series..
Daniella Aronsky Daniella Aronsky 5'8" | CG American Heritage | 2021 State FL – American Heritage
Put me on record as calling Aronsky the Sue Bird of the south. The 2021 point guard averaged 13 points and ten assists for the champion Patriots. What makes her an excellent back-court player is her vision in transition. Aronsky has the basketball IQ to immediately have her eyes looking up the floor after a defensive rebound. In addition, Aronsky is equally as effective with her passing ability in the half-court. Overall, the Patriots floor captain just has the awareness to see a play before a defense can be set. It should come as no surprise that her helpers ranked as one of the best in the nation. Furthermore, Aronsky limits her mistakes by not committing careless turnovers. The rising senior runs with the Miami Suns and will look to cap off her high school career as a four-time champion this season.
Etaria Gibbons Etaria Gibbons 6'0" | SF Northeast | 2022 State FL – Northeast
With a lot attention focused on the men’s side, 2022 Etaria Gibbons Etaria Gibbons 6'0" | SF Northeast | 2022 State FL is proving there is more going on for the Hurricanes in Oakland Park. In fact, put her right alongside the boys in the #SwagCheck category. Gibbons is a versatile wing that averaged 16.4 points, 11.4 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 1.5 blocks per game last season. Against Coral Glades, Gibbons dropped 23 points and grabbed 20 rebounds, 13 of which came on the offensive end. The Hurricanes captain is also an excellent defender with multiple games of five or more steals. In addition, Gibbons is also an excellent volleyball player for Northeast. The rising junior will look to carry the Hurricanes past there 13-9 record last season.
Emma Wallhoff Emma Wallhoff 5'10" | CG Westminster | 2021 State FL – Westminster Academy
2021 guard Emma Wallhoff Emma Wallhoff 5'10" | CG Westminster | 2021 State FL has already cemented herself as one of the top players in South Florida The Southern Mississippi commit averaged 17.1 points and six rebounds for the Lady Lions. Furthermore, Walhoff is an excellent shooter from all points on the floor. The Lions guard shot 47 percent from the field, 45 percent from deep and 88 percent from the line. The rising senior has already scored 2000 points in her career and knocked down 466 3-pointers. You can just label her as a sniper and instant offense for Westminster Academy. Off the court, Wallhoff is a member of Team Knight and carries a 3.5 GPA as a student.
Aaliyah Reid – Deerfield Beach
2021 Aaliyah Reid is a double-double machine for Deerfield Beach. According to MaxPreps, the Lady Bucks forward posted eleven on the season. Overall, Reid averaged 15.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game as a junior. Against Coral Springs, Reid scored 16 points and grabbed 22 rebounds, 12 coming on the offensive end. Clearly, Reid has a knack for grabbing rebounds and puts herself in good position to do so. The rising senior will look to take Deerfield Beach past its 14-9 record last season.
Chynna Mattair – Dillard
A catalyst for the Panthers, Mattair teamed up with 2023 Khyala Ngodu Khyala Ngodu 6'2" | PF Dillard | 2023 State FL to form one of the best tandems in Broward County. The 2021 point guard averaged 11.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists across 27 games. Mattair brings a balance of talent and senior leadership to the Panther floor. She will look to finish off her Dillard career with a state championship after winning one in 2019.
