Last weeks A Shot For Life competition got several of the best players in Massachusetts under one roof for a great cause. The two day shooting competition raised over $40,000 for cancer research. Again with Covid Regulations still prohibiting competitive basketball in Massachusetts this event got the best players in the area competing in a shooting contest that combined foul line, mid range and three point shots over the course of two hours.
This years female champion [player_tooltip player_id="174103" first="Shay" last="Bollin"] is currently the Number 1 ranked player in Massachusetts in the Class of 2022 and has already received a number of high major scholarship offers. The rising junior shot 80.9% from the field during the competition. No doubt Shay will be the most sought after player in Massachusetts over the next few months.
Coming in second was 2020 Ashland graduate Kayla Madden who will be headed off to play for Springfield College in the fall. Kayla just missed out on the top prize as she shot 80.7% on the night.

The sharp shooting guard is currently ranked 26th in Massachusetts in the Class of 2021. No doubt if we can get back on the court soon she will be hearing from scholarship level schools.
