Players to See This Winter

Tonight, we are looking at a handful of players who could impact their program this winter. I want to highlight a few players before the season starts and before I make my predictions on what I think will happen around the state this winter. However, tonight we'll look at some talented kids I'd like to discuss before the season starts.

The Mukwonago native is a skilled wing who can make winning plays on both sides of the ball. The 6-1 wing can handle the ball and make plays off the dribble. She sees the floor well for a wing and can help her teammates get open looks offensively. I also love the defensive versatility she brings. She can guard one through five and make plays on the ball. She will fill multiple roles at the next level and will be someone numerous scholarship programs will want to see over the next year.

The Kettle Moraine guard has grown into an excellent high school guard and has improved each year. Lodes is an excellent perimeter shooter who can knock down shots. I also like her ability to attack the basket and how well she's grown into that role. Her confidence has impressed over her two years at the high school level, and has become a leader for her program. She sets the tone for her teammates, and they respond to her well.

The Eau Claire native is a well-rounded guard who can thrive in either backcourt role. Gardow played well alongside a talented guard who excels with the ball. However, she has shown that she can handle the ball under pressure and attack the basket. She also has the physical tools to handle playing through contact around the rim. She's a multi-sport athlete who can probably compete in multiple sports at the next level, so I'll be interested to see what she chooses to do at the next level.

The Notre Dame guard is a player who played in an off-ball role last season. However, Cumicek has the skills to handle the ball and create for herself and her teammates. Her ability to knock down perimeter jumpers and stretch the defense is something that will make her teammates' lives easier. I also think there's a competitive edge that she didn't show last year. She has the tools to be a kid who can help the Tritons reach the State Tournament again this season.
